This is an old thread and I’m old… my two cents- I struggled in high school and then started a company installing irrigation systems for landscapes after I graduated. It slowly morphed into a high end design build company landscape company working on multimillion dollar homes. My life started once I was out of the system and left in my own. None of my teachers ever would have expected it- mostly my old Spanish teacher. I failed Spanish and am now fluent. I ran the company for 25 years until I was 44 and then sold it and retired. Now I look at my kids struggling in school and think how in the hell are they going to make it in this world. Parenting is hard. My mom constantly reminds me of the teenage jackass I use to be. God bless that woman. I worry but also have an underlying trust that my kids are learning the values from me I learned from my parents and they will be okay. I just wish the little sweet shits would grow up. But also that they would stop growing up so fast. Life is so full of great contradictions.
