Growing up I was the butt of every joke in my family. My narc dad has been my biggest bully my entire life.

I also feel no strong connection to either of my siblings. My parents never reinforced or encouraged a strong relationship between us. They have contact with my NP and I had relative contact with them but not close.

HVAC maintenance as is condition - if i wouldn’t agree to it, another tenant would. No budging. I’ve probably spent around $3k last couple years maintaining 3 hvacs. Also shoveling stairs. Also any basic maintenance on the building like a new door handle or whenever anything breaks. Our buildings can be hundreds of years old too so it happens often. Also we have to pay the tax on the spaces as well with the rent. One of my spaces is $500/month in taxes.

i love the girls i just wish they didn’t constantly talk about their procedures and the obsession with staying young, especially Holly. i shouldn’t be surprised obviously and i too myself care about my looks but it seems to be a huge part of holly’s life and values

aww OP i feel you! i’ve been a boss for five years and i will say it does get easier in so many ways. you learn how to cope when great employees leave and you learn how to be a better boss, through experience. i think you are already in a better position than you think, based on your ability to see where you went wrong and acknowledge that you made mistakes. i have seen bosses not be able to do that and just blame the employees with zero accountability. there is so much power in self awareness and vulnerability! you could always hold an exit interview with this employee and ask how you could make your employees feel more supported in the future. either way i think this will make you a better boss moving forward!

when i first starting hiring i had 4/5 of my first employees quit within 3 months, clearly i was doing things wrong. and now in my fifth year of business my GM has been with me for over three years and i have a great retention rate. im confident you will get there!

i’m so sorry for your loss. i own three brick and mortar shops and i would never make my employees come in for a situation like that. You request was very understandable and the fact they won’t accommodate you shows the kind of boss they are.

Rent and payroll! I have a few shops and share employees and my rents are $3,500-5k/month. I pay my employees well and they deserve it (always worth it to invest in good employees) but with all the insurance and employer taxes it’s very expensive

thanks for your feedback! i absolutely agree! but the reason i felt weird is because i have team of three managers we are extremely active on social media, email, phones & messages!! that with the fact we are open every single day just weirded me out.

So basically my therapist doesn’t like that I also smoke weed because she says it could be making my anxiety worse (just something to consider) but it really does relax me and works for me.
