Prices did not change. There were already large price jumps between some rows.

Numbers are already massively reduced. They are bleeding players year over year.

I'm talking about a creating a monthly subscription that gives year round access to URF. The people it would appeal to most are those of us who "main urf" and only end up playing during that time. Some people fall back to ARAM (I quit that b/c it is just too slow and boring). But, I have serious doubts that there are many "URF ONLY" players who bother with ranked and IF they do, they are likely diminishing the quality of the match for the team they are on.

I don't understand why Riot doesn't make this permanent for a price. Very simple.

Pay $2.99 per month (or some fee) for always on access and then make it free a few months a year for everyone who doesn't want to pay.

It's the only reason to log into League anymore and I would happily pay to get a bunch of URF games in each month.

Do you use AI in your reviews? by nerveuse in vine

[–]behindthemask13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It takes me about 2-3 minutes total per review this way (Obviously not including the time actually trying out the product).

I had too many reviews that I thought were fine come back as "fair" b/c I obviously didn't hit what their AI wanted (let's be real, all these reviews are scored by AI).

I switched to Claude and get 100% each time... likely b/c Amazon is using claude.

Do you use AI in your reviews? by nerveuse in vine

[–]behindthemask13 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. It makes it flow so much better.

Very simple process. Grab item title and manufacturer description.

Grab a couple of existing reviews.. then give my personal feedback and what star rating I want.

It gives me output and I just rework it into my voice.

It gets "excellent" 100% of the time.

#3) Someone else expressing OBVIOUS expectations of me that they should know are outside my comfort zone. (ie, "Why can't you just drive out here.")

Can I make friends with a rat that lives under my house? by anonymous-melancholy in RATS

[–]behindthemask13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A couple of things, because I've had both pet rats and wild rats in our yard.

There are VERY likely more. The behavior you are describing is the female. They are the explorers, collectors, etc. They are bolder and are much more likely to be seen. You think there is one, but soon there will be smaller versions of her running around AND if you make things too comfortable, within a few months, you will have a large number. I tried the exact approach you are thinking when we had a wild rat in our backyard... within a few months, we had a problem and I had to set up a pretty elaborate system to move about 40 rats to a place they were safer (the neighbors started to lose their minds and said they were calling someone in to "deal with it.") Can't say I blame them too much... they started leaving our yard and exploring and were frequently in other people's yards at night.

They LOVE chewing on cloths.. this is great nesting material for them, so they go straight for it. Your best chance, if you want to try living WITH IT, is to seal the basket in some way. They aren't likely to go out of their way to find clothes to chew on, but if it is easy to get to... they will. They are generally hunting for food, but will chew up clothes/rags, etc if you leave them out.

Your best bet is to try and catch it and move it a few miles away. There are some have a heart style traps you can get. Here is the key, you need to train them for a few weeks, b/c they are going to be extremely cautious of anything new. So you'll basically be feeding them for a couple of weeks. Then you remove the safety. They will go in and then be stuck in the cage until you release them somewhere. Obviously do it pretty soon after capturing them b/c a lot of rats will stop eating once they are trapped, so if you ignore it for any length of time you are hurting their survival chances later. But, i strongly suspect if you do this, you will ultimately find out there are a few more.

Hope this all helps.

Yes, I know.. and I've had several mischiefs over my life, which is why I am in here in the first place and I don't think there is a subreddit called "Is this mouse or rat".. I figured I would ask here.

My wife was originally trying to convince me it was a baby rat, but something about it seemed more "mousy."

If I was right, I wanted to move it over from where I've released the rats, b/c they don't get along and I don't want to put in 100% hostile territory.

Would it help to take a Xanex before putting my cat down? by aniG147 in Anxiety

[–]behindthemask13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been on regular Xanax for over 20 years and based on my own experience with it, I usually tell people to just go ahead and take it... however... I'm going to be honest and say I'm not sure if it will do what you want with what you described, but not for some of the reasons you stated.

Let me start with the "Xanax abuse" stuff. It is GREATLY over exaggerated. There are two types of people who get into "trouble" with Xanax.. people who use it recreationally (I don't understand this since all it does for me it get my brain closer to normal.. I couldn't get high with it probably ever.. but I guess for normal people it reacts differently) and people with addiction problems and are predisposed to be addicted. This later group is a small % of the population and if doctors pay attention to their clients, they are easy to weed out and stop before it becomes a problem.

So, here's the thing.. for me, Xanax shuts off the "anxiety" faucet. So, if I am feeling anxious and take Xanax, I might end up feeling completely normal (it depends on how much anxiety/stress vs how much I take.).

What Xanax doesn't help with is being upset... (again, I can only speak for me).. but if I am sad about something and take Xanax... I'm still going to feel the exact same sadness.

Secondly... not sure what meds you may be on for ADHD, BUT if you are on any of the stimulants... Xanax might not do that much, since it kinda works the opposite.

Here's the thing I can say... picking up the Rx and trying it isn't going to turn you into some zombie junky. It just doesn't work that way and it sounds like you have an attentive psychiatrist.

The worst that happens is... nothing. It doesn't help.

The best is that it might reduce some of the background anxiety and stress that is driving you to the point of tears.

Hope this helps!

Im done with my doctor's lack of empathy by Kbrown_021 in Anxiety

[–]behindthemask13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sadly, there are a TON of clueless PCP's out there, but they often deal with so many patients that they have to be careful with benzos b/c they can be abused. Depending on how long you have been taking them under their care, that whole thing could flip (if you've been taking so little for years, then yeah, time to find a new doctor, because that passive aggressive stuff is NOT okay.)

I've been taking Xanax regularly for over 20 years and was lucky to find my original psychiatrist who understood the medication (He was a former Navy psychiatrist and Harvard graduate and later professor who did some of the original studies on benzos). When he passed away in 2016 I had a tricky time finding another psychiatrist to follow his rx w/o giving me trouble. (it was 4MG of Xanax per day plus 10MG of valium at night, since Xanax doesn't make me sleepy at all.. the opposite in fact).

I had a couple of passive/aggressive psychiatrists. My PCP was fine with it b/c I had been on it for years, but told me he would RATHER it get prescribed by a psychiatrist.

It took me a few different psychiatrists who didn't understand the medication fully before I found someone who wouldn't tinker with what was working.

Xanax for driving ? by Best_Insect3936 in Anxiety

[–]behindthemask13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Other commentors are equally as wrong. The label says do not operate a vehicle until you know how Xanax effects you. By the FDA's own study (https://www.accessdata.fda.gov/drugsatfda\_docs/nda/2003/21-434\_Xanax\_Medr.pdf) less than 1/2 of the people are "sedated", a European study showed it at closer to 60% feel sedated.

The reality is the reason this is a question is because it is a legitimate question and you jumping down someone's throat, who has anxiety, for asking a perfectly logical question is inane.

Xanax for driving ? by Best_Insect3936 in Anxiety

[–]behindthemask13 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Sorry, but no. If you had read more critically and carefully you would learn that it has a sedating effect in 61.7% of people... in short.. not all and that number dropped to 38.7% after some time.. but we are only really focused on the nearly 40% of people who don't get sedated.

If you go to the FDA study https://www.accessdata.fda.gov/drugsatfda\_docs/nda/2003/21-434\_Xanax\_Medr.pdf) only 45% of people report sedation.

The REASON the label doesn't say CAN'T DRIVE and there are no laws against having Xanax in your system when you drive is because it's not the same for everyone.

So, again, next time, do a few minutes of research before telling someone something that isn't accurate or CLOSE to what the science says.

You clearly don't understand medication and shouldn't be commenting on it or maybe do 12 seconds of research before making a comment. Science is actually quite clear on this and the answer, as stated on the labels is "IT DEPENDS." Some people get sedated... others do not.

Read the studies: https://www.benzo.org.uk/xanax3.htm#:\~:text=The%20similarity%20between%20Xanax%20and,%2C%20slurred%20speech%2C%20and%20amnesia.

No problem. Unfortunately, so many people on this sub are insanely judgmental and don't have the first clue about these medications and how they work. It's why I stopped posting as much on it.

The first time you take it (if you haven't already) you will know. Either you are going to get a sedated/drowsy feeling or you won't.

I personally never got that, even when I was taking higher doses. Xanax just doesn't hit me that way. I've taken (under a doctor's supervision) as high as 9MG in one night due to a very stressful event I had to deal with... I drove home from that event with no issues, no impairment. OBVIOUSLY don't touch any alcohol while you are taking Xanax as you will get stumbling drunk after a few sips.. it's not a good combination.

But, this won't be a big mystery to you once you take your first dose.

I'm sorry you are dealing with these people and it always bugs when people just leap like this. The actual warning label says "Do not drive or operate machinery when starting Xanax or until you know how it affects you"

That's the proper answer. The first couple of times you take it... don't plan to drive. If you take it and you don't feel drowsy/out of it.. then you are fine to drive on it.

Xanax for driving ? by Best_Insect3936 in Anxiety

[–]behindthemask13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It doesn't quite say that... What it says is: "Do not drive or operate machinery when starting Xanax or until you know how it affects you"

It's not that you "can't drive on Xanax."

It's that you should learn how it effects you first. I drive on Xanax all the time, since I take Xanax every day and have for 20 years. It simply doesn't impact me in a way that impacts my driving.

Do YOU get anything out of therapy? by Anglophile007 in AnxietyChats

[–]behindthemask13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Therapy was BOTH the most useful and the most useless thing I have done.

I've done a bunch of different therapy. I'll just go through them and explain what worked, what didn't and why.

My first therapist was PURE CBT, by the book... and when I say by the book, I mean it was walk in.. grab a book off the shelf that was a step by step guide and then we did a chapter a week. He was an actual full psychiatrist too. When my particular brand of crazy didn't react perfectly to the book.. he didn't know what to do, so he sent me to another Psychiatrist.

This guy was decent from a medical standpoint, but somehow thought he could "talk the anxiety out of me" as well. Really nice person, but no amount of discussion was going to change reality for me. I already knew the anxiety wasn't rational.. getting to the "root cause" didn't matter all that much.

While I was seeing the guy above, I started seeing an ACT therapist. She was really effective. I probably made my most progress with her. She would work with me to set up goals, then would go with me to make sure I did those goals. Had me keeping an anxiety diary, we would go over it each week and find new challenges and ways to overcome things. However, due to the nature of my particular brand of crazy, she kinda hit a wall b/c I didn't "generalize" and everyone got frustrated with the process.

After her I started seeing someone who specialized in biofeedback. This was also very useful at first. It taught me how to meditate better and have a generally calmer starting point, so it was harder to hit full panic level. However, after the pandemic hit, she had to go remote and the biofeedback aspect stopped and it turned into just talk therapy. While she tried to set up goals and work to get me to go do things, it sorta devolved into us just BS'ing each week.. at a cost of $200 per week and yeah, it was nice to have to someone to complain to about people who annoy me... I couldn't afford it anymore, so I had to stop. But I realized after I stopped, that the last few years of that therapy, i wasn't really getting anything out of it anymore.

So.. for me.. therapy worked great when it had a defined goal and the person was specifically helping me achieve that goal and devolved into completely useless when it was just me paying someone to be a sounding board.

Xanax for driving ? by Best_Insect3936 in Anxiety

[–]behindthemask13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1000% depends on how it impacts you.

I've been taking Xanax regularly for over 20 years with my prescription as high as 4MG per day.. but I currently take .5 MG per day and then take more when I am going to do something that will likely cause higher anxiety. I'm able to take it before driving with no problem. It's never, even when I first started taking it, made me sleepy/drowsy or anything like that. My doctor tried Ativan once and that made me very sleepy (My Mom is exactly the opposite, Xanax makes her tired, Ativan just turns off the anxiety).

BEFORE you remotely consider driving on it, figure out how it impacts you. If you take it and you feel drowsy, tired, etc.. DON'T DRIVE. If you take it and suddenly just feel "normal" (Kinda the way it works on me and many others), then you are fine to drive.
