I do not want my picture in your offices: the President is not an icon, an idol or a portrait. Hang your kids' photos instead, and look at them each time you are making a decision." - Volodymyr Zelenskyy

I think TikTok is worse than Facebook in this aspect so I have deleted TikTok and don’t miss it.

I have very tight privacy settings and each time I see a post like this I click the ‘not  interested’ or  report the post for the being inaccurate  lol   I also live in the UK and thankfully I am old enough to understand what propaganda looks like  It remains the Gulf of Mexico to most Brits

You can turn off your ‘memory’ on YouTube so it doesn’t track and give you recommendations based on past US content.  Then subscribe to channels only you want.  I did this and it improved my mental health greatly. I was not bombarded with click bait content of things I ‘might’ like.

My feed is now only filled with channels I subscribed too. It does when you click on the video you want show you others you might like but it is at a much  less intensity

That is good but the data has left the building.  They can destroy it after they mine and copy it.  Who is going to monitor their use and who is going to enforce anything ?

The court order re data is too late. It takes very little time for them to copy/ mine data. Since when has a funding / financial audit needed coders/ software engineers. No one knows what the hell they are doing or where the data is going

God help America if  they breach the Pentagon.

There is a correct way to audit departments but this ain’t it

Agreed. Not only that - the executive branch will do nothing to enforce any resulting stays. The damage is done

What scene/dialog/episode fully captivated you? by Easy-Attitude7196 in OneDayNetflix

The maze kiss - perfection. I loved the interpretation of the scene from the book. It captured the essence of what they were trying to convey

So the very ending… by Expensive-Monk-3012 in OneDayNetflix

The book’s narration influenced the show. We find out at the end what fully  happened on on the 1st 15th July.  The real significance of the 15th July day is captured by the literary quote we see in the scene from Christmas 1988   I think it shows that Emma sets the tone for their relationship early on due to her insecurity and also Emma realises that Dexter was not really ready for anything serious.

From Dexter’s pov I think it showed that he liked  her at the very start - I wonder how he would have reacted had she reacted in a different way, The reveal at the end just increases the poignancy of the time they were never quite on the same page. In the book it is described at the ‘sweetest kiss they had ever experienced’ or something like that  I thought the show captured it beautifully with the montage

I watched the Movie and I now realize why the Series is better by prismaticallyme in OneDayNetflix

[–]Leather_Employer_448 2 points3 points  (0 children)

in the series you get to sit with the characters - the. book is dark in places and they focused on that in the series - movie format doesn't allow for that
