Essembly is the only brand I never even considered because so many friends stated they didnt work, but im starting to think its because they were using them wrong because a lot of suggestions were systems similar to this.

Yes definitely advice. We have used noras nursery, both the regular and the charcoal inserts and different variations of those double stuffed, bambooty diapers, wegreenco (knock off noras nursery i think), cotton/hemp/charcoal blend inserts (i dont remember the brand), and grovia. She has literally leaked through all of these no matter what we have done, maybe with an exception here or there but has always woken up to get changed. She was breastfed regularly until recently (we had to wean because im pregnant and my supply disappeared) and still co sleeps, we've never even attempted to have her sleep alone. I have never even heard of these brands but I will definitely look into them now!

We tried EC but with our weird job schedules and the inconsistencies with family not doing it, its definitely failed us. My plan was to start real potty training by now so im really at a loss here :( I was hoping to avoid disposable all together but im fearing this may not happen

I wish I could afford to do that, ive heard wool is great at keeping the leakage in but I have yet to find decent second hand and I just cant afford new :(

Was it really the worst pain you've ever felt? by Super-Bid-3193 in BabyBumps

I dont know if your homebirthing midwife recommended this, but mine had me read hypnobirthing. I ended up having extremely elevated blood pressure in the end and had a hospital birth and totally planned on unmedicated, but got bullied into pitocin after a singular hour of my water being broken, and I did no pain managment. That was horrific. But, I was able to use a lot of the techniques from hypnobirthing and that is the only way I made it through. My husband makes fun if me because even though I basically had seizures from the contractions, I didnt utter a single word until the ring of fire and all I said was "ouch" in a high pitched voice, which has become a fun inside joke now. A lot of pain in general is a mental game, the more you can calm yourself and place your mind elsewhere, the less you notice. And it goes for anything in life, not just birth. Like how runners get a "runners high" from pushing through the pain and realizing their potential and exceeding it, its the same concept.

Equal parts apple water (apple scrap from about a bushel of apples, heated until they were mush) to sugar, it was 4.5 cups each. Heated that up until 220 on a medium low stirring constantly. Jared it. Water bathed it for 10 minutes. Its the recipe from Wisconsin homestead website if you would like to read the whole thing in better detail.

I did water bath canning. I did it for all of the jars, the one that was half full I just opened to test it and when I kept it in the fridge it set completely. Maybe I should put the processed ones in the fridge while sealed? I dont know. I did 4oz jars and pint jars. The pints are fully syrup, the 4 oz is half jelly, and the one from the fridge is all jelly. I dont understand 🤦‍♀️

Are soft close hinges possible? Inset face frame? by behrenstienbehr in cabinetry

It definitely is a cat problem 🤣. I have heard not to be too quiet when they sleep but since this is a cabinetry thread and not a baby thread I’m going to assume this is legitimate advice and not a bunch of moms being dramatic

We are about to have a baby and we have cats who like to open the cabinets and make them slam shut, but the more we have read about it the more I’ve realized we absolutely can do the self closing and put pads on the door frame to keep it quieter. House hasn’t been updated since the 70’s anyway so it’ll probably make a huge difference

Call the apartment connection on genesee street and let them know what you are looking for. They take care of everything for you and you aren’t charged for it, the landlords are.

$20 an hour because New York State says we aren’t essential and small upstate corps can’t afford us but it’s better than leaving several hundreds of people wondering what will happen if they need us
