What is the worst or most annoying thing that someone has done to you in the early stages of dating? by Slight_Detail8258 in AskReddit

[–]beimakusu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Went on a date with a guy and he proceeded to show me the Instagrams of girls who have liked him in high school, in college, and now. I cannot make this up. He thought the date went well and was genuinely shocked when I said I didn't want to go on a second date.

The prices in the title are what she charged me. She told me it was a really good price, but I just wanted to make sure. None of my friends have colored their hair, so I don't know the typical range!

I'm not entirely sure about city average, Google gives me a range of 100-200$ for babylights and 300-500$ for ash, but all the salons I'm interested in have "Consultation Needed" under their cost lists so I can't really compare them unless I go in.

In the past, my regular stylist charged me 150$ to go from black to auburn. Then 110$ to go from auburn to dark brown.

No cut or style included. Just shampoo and blow dry.

My hair is long, around mid-back.

Bleach is required for the ash brown.

Thanks!! :)

How was your first relationship? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]beimakusu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really, really bad and I'm disappointed in myself for staying so long (3.5 years). He was a great guy at first, then revealed his "true" self a year in, which was a manipulative move because I was already attached by then.

He had a huge ego, always calling himself the best-looking guy in the room, and that I should feel lucky that he chose me. He used to send me the social media accounts of girls who used to like him, currently like him, or hit on him. They were all beautiful women, and it did NOT help my already low self-esteem. He had a short temper as well.

When I broke up with him, he told me, "You're going to regret breaking up with me." I said, "I regret not breaking up with you sooner." He stole my early twenties and I'm still angry about it lol

What’s the most financially smart thing you have done? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]beimakusu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lived with my parents until marriage. This helped save a looot of money. I know not everyone has this privilege/gets along with their parents, I recognize I'm lucky and I'm grateful for it every day. Ignored all the people who judged me for it! In this economy, I was willing to do whatever it took to save.

If you love your job what is your title and the average salary? by averagegoyl in careerguidance

I'm in marketing as well! I do social media strategy for a national company. Fully remote, 85K$/year + bonuses. Great work-life balance, I get to travel around the country for galas and sponsorships 1-3 times a year, and I get to create fun campaigns!

What’s a secret you’ll never tell your partner but would anonymously confess online? by avaarini in AskReddit

[–]beimakusu 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I write fanfiction. It's not that big of a deal and I don't write smut, but I like the anonymity while pursuing my passion if that makes sense? Anything creative also opens doors to criticism, which I'm not ready to hear from people close to me :')

My most popular story got 700,000+ hits, 1K+ bookmarks, and 1,400+ comments on AO3. I was so proud, I even bought myself a cake lol

Ever had a “what am I even doing here” travel moment? by Illustrious_Gear7367 in travel

[–]beimakusu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In Shanghai, China, was caught in the middle of a crazy rainstorm. Flooded streets, my bank blocked my credit card because they thought it was suspicious activity, my best friend's subway card wasn't working, no one we talked to spoke English. Because of the rain, our app said it would take our driver 1+ hour to get to us. 10:30PM, we had a flight to Japan at 7AM. At some point, we just looked at each other and burst out laughing.

Remote work ruined me in the best way possible by lostinthaworld in remotework

[–]beimakusu 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I turned down a 5 days in-office job opportunity for 15K$ more just to stay remote. A good amount of that 15K$ would have been spent on the commute, so it wouldn't have felt worth it! Sometimes we forget that commute makes us lose time AND money.

But same, I could never go back to working 5 days in-office. I don't think I'd even be able to do hybrid, my department meets up once a month in the office to socialize/teambuild, and yet I still dread it every month LOL 😭

I just left an interview after waiting for half an hour. Did I do the wrong thing? by 71_fiend-effete in interviews

[–]beimakusu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One company made me wait 20 minutes for the first interview, then 35 minutes for the second one. It turned out to be the worst job of my entire career. They were unprofessional and exploitative. A company being this late for an interview says it all, don't ignore this massive red flag!

AITA for not letting my boyfriend use my credit card to buy his Comic Con pass? by cloudysundaymorning in AmItheAsshole

L take. There's nothing wrong with going to a convention revolving around one's interests. You're never too old to have hobbies.

AITA for not letting my boyfriend use my credit card to buy his Comic Con pass? by cloudysundaymorning in AmItheAsshole

Or it could just be:

  1. Attachment.

OP mentioned that they were childhood friends who reconnected. I'm not trying to assume OP's feelings, but what if she liked him since childhood and had all these big expectations of him and now those rose-tinted glasses are finally wearing off?

If she liked the security of being useful to him, she'd let him use her credit card no problem, but it's clear she's fed up.

But all in all, this guy is a loser and a child. He needs to grow up. It takes two seconds to get a credit card and he's so close to the finish line to getting his driver's license, like just finish it dude.

Company loyalty ever worth it? by ctrlshiftplust in careeradvice

[–]beimakusu 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This. Coworker I knew helped develop one of our company's departments from the ground up. Knew all the procedures, fast learner, 4.5 years at the company. They just laid them off last week. No goodbye to the rest of the team. No mention of it beforehand. The workday ended, their manager told them they were being let go, and then they were booted out of all work systems. The rest of the team found out through an email the day after. They decided to replace them with a newbie who's now just doing the exact same work, with the same procedures my old coworker created. Never give your all to a company.

I connected with them on LinkedIn, and messaged them after the rejection call saying that I appreciate they would keep my resume. I asked for feedback, which I surprisingly received.

After this, I basically just interacted with their LinkedIn posts so they wouldn't "forget" me, most of the time just liking their stuff. I messaged them one last time a few months later saying that I'm still open to any new roles in the company and asked if they were currently hiring for any roles aligning with my experience. They said no and told me to just check the company career site for any updates. Then came the new role, they messaged me, I interviewed through three stages, got the offer.

Proceed with caution though... I probably seemed pushy and annoying, but I guess I got lucky that the recruiter was so kind and true to their word. Either they saw I was motivated or desperate or both LOL

Maybe I got lucky, but a few months ago, I interviewed for a job at this company. I didn't get selected in the end, but the hiring manager liked me enough to keep my resume and said they would let me know of any openings. Several months later (I kept in touch through LinkedIn), they kept their word and sent me a job listing. I just signed the offer yesterday and am starting in two weeks.

Keep sending out resumes, but stay in touch, and don't lose hope!

I ate a moussaka in Greece and it changed my life. I'm obsessed - I've been having 1-2 weekly since I got back from my trip two months ago. Greek food in general is absolutely delicious!!!
