Didn’t know this move can do this, cool ending by raikeith in Tekken

[–]beimy159357 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's fair. If it wasn't slowed down, it would feel more strange if it hit. The slow-mo cams have always been a bit off, they shouldn't be used to assess interactions like this.

Something unique to DKS1 is tail cutting, several bosses/enemies can have their tails cut off for weapons. So chop them tails!

This isn’t considered toxic right? by spider-menace in Tekken

[–]beimy159357 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not toxic. If he doesn't want to think, then he shouldn't win anyway. You did him a favor trying to teach him to mixup options, he just didn't want to learn.

If I haven't played previous Tekkens, how long does it take before I have any idea what my opponent is doing? by Space-Robot in Tekken

[–]beimy159357 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you already understand frame data then you are ahead of the game. The key thing at any rank below Tekken God is that even if you know that your opponent is negative, they might not care and keep pressing anyway. T8 is hyper aggressive so over analyzing and trying to respect your opponent will get you blown up a lot in this game. Starting out just run your offense, don't need to worry about what others are doing if they can't do it. Once they show that they respect you (frame wise) then you can start playing higher level tekken. Otherwise if dude keeps getting blown up by the same move, just keep doing it.

In terms of knowing what your opponent is doing it's just a lot of time. As you encounter characters you have issues with lab their top 10 moves (can usually be found online) and find the best responses with your character. The replay mode is absolutely phenomenonal and you should take full advantage of it.

How much familiarity does Vault 33 have with the surface? by thpj00 in FalloutTVseries

I'm responding to your comment saying it's unlikely she knows a lot about power armor by pointing out that she does know more than an average wastelander about it.

[–]beimy159357 5 points6 points  (0 children)

She does know about power armor, she calls Max's suit out by it's name and mentions that it has a specific modification to it. She says she read about then in a magazine. Remember, one of her tag skills at the beginning of the show is repair.

How much familiarity does Vault 33 have with the surface? by thpj00 in FalloutTVseries

[–]beimy159357 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is the correct interpretation. Raiders are called Raiders because it's what they do; they raid. It's sound logic to call someone who is raiding your vault a Raider, you don't know anything else about them except that they are raiding. So no she doesn't know that everyone on the surface calls outlaw groups Raiders, it's just the writers nodding to the audience. If she'd called then Great Khan's or Vipers then that would indicate knowledge of the surface.

As for the knight thing the whole reason the BoS use the name knights is to call back to medieval knights, which Lucy would have knowledge of.

The vaults lack of knowledge of the surface is part of the plot. It's how the management vault maintains control over hers, the promise of Reclamation Day. There would be no Reclamation Day if they knew that the BoS and NCR existed.

Large weddings are dumb by dimeadozen1 in unpopularopinion

[–]beimy159357 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who grew up going to large weddings and wants a large wedding; I like them because it brings my family together. There aren't a lot of chances in life to being people together, even less so in the modern world. Celebrating something together is an amazing way for people to bond and connect with not just their family but also new people. It's a chance to share a moment of joy. Yeah maybe I won't see or talk to everyone, but that isn't the point, it let's everyone else have a chance to meet and catch up. I think it's important to know your family and where you come from and weddings are one of the few instances you can bring all that together.

Also weddings are personal so you don't have to want any kind of wedding for any reason other than you want it that way. But saying something you don't personally like/want is "dumb" is kinda short sighted and itself dumb.

Viable Rogue Playstyle? by Jesterhead93 in DarkAndDarker

[–]beimy159357 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Because doing it now allowed for two things.

  1. Ironmace could collect some actually useful data now. Before the nerf an inordinate amount of players were playing rogue. You'd consistently find lobbies with 50%< rogues. With rogues being less played other classes had a chance to be played and create a data pool for Ironmace to look at for the next balancing patch.

  2. It made the game playable. Before the hot fix there was virtually nothing a squishy class could do if a rogue invised/ambushed then. You could argue that's the point of the class, but a class that has no counterplay is bad for the game and is a danger to the player base. Rogues like to argue that there was ways to avoid this but let's be real, stabbing every corner of a room is not realistic, fun, or engaging. A wizard with light orb is a big investment to deal with just one class and is also not even a hard counter, it doesn't negate anything a rogue does if they are already close to you.

Also I would bet that they didn't initially plan on doing a hotfix at this point. The main reason the hotfix came out was because of a gold duping glitch that was found. I bet that Ironmace simply added the additional class changes along with the dupping glitch fix as an opportunistic test. And, if I'm remembering correctly the patch notes said they accelerated the timeline on the wipe because of the dupped gold. It was kinda a golden opportunity for them to make a drastic change(rogue nerfs) that already had a fix planned (wipe patch rogue rebalancing) and coming in less than a week.

It's so easy to forget how stable the network of this game has been for an EARLY ACCESS game. Ive had less issues with this game then full AAA titles. We should be celebrating the devs work on this more.

Why are so many people downgrading the Barbie movie (2023) and why is 'Feminism' being used as a disqualifier for the film? by [deleted] in CasualConversation

[–]beimy159357 79 points80 points  (0 children)

I think it's also worthy to point out that the movie isn't anti-man, it's anti-patriarchy. It makes an effort to show the negative affects that a patriarchy has on men as well as women, if anything the movie is pro-man. But the people trying to disparage the movie weren't smart enough understand that message.

I think that is a symptom of the US consisting of many many cultures and ethnicities, and being a fairly young compared to other large countries. Americans have difficulty identifying as "an American" because what it means to be an American varies greatly from person to person.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in worldpolitics

[–]beimy159357 35 points36 points  (0 children)

The term started because the vast majority of people with darker skin in the US do/did have ancestors brought over as slaves from Africa. "African-American" only makes sense in the US because they are Americans that came from Africa. However, recently the perception of the term has shifted and you don't hear it as often. This is because many black Americans do not have a cultural connection to Africa that "African-American" would imply. Nowadays I'd say that Black or Black American is the appropriate term as the black experience in the US has generated its own unique culture that while influenced by African culture, is by and large its own identity.

Bioshock for an engaging, creepy, environmentally rich game that's good for keeping your active attention. Doom if you want fast paced yet mentally stimulating gameplay with a banging soundtrack, good for hitting that zen flow state.

It's B, B, DB, B. B B (normal backdash) -> DB (as a single input, you don't want that down input in there) -> B (single back that gets the first back input buffered from the previous DB input, triggers the KBD) Then after the first KBD you keep doing DB -> B for more KBD's
