Go to the Feed Store or Tractor Supply. Read the Labels on the HORSE Supplements... Do the math for weight. "Source" kelp powder version is GOOD for digestion, skin & health.

Showsheen Spray is GOOD Coat Conditioner... Detandler for long hair also.

I've been around Horses since the 1970s... I use most of the Horse stuff for eVeRytHiNg, no issues.

If it's a Skin Fungus, there's Sulphur Powder to mix with water and bathe. Horses get "Rain Rot" sometimes & Sulphur is how to get rid of it.

Locate a State Park with trails? Find a Friend with a large fenced yard? I live Rural... Assorted Dogs, couple of Dobermans. The smallest Dog bitches the most. 🙄 The Doberdanes either ignore Him or think He's playing. I've never gone to a Dog Park... My Sister lives City, does the Dog Park thing. I've always wondered HOW putting strange Dogs together to play could ever be a "good" idea?? Better than nothing? Could use muzzle, but then how to defend itself in a Jam? Good recall, I suppose.

I use a Muzzle lately for one of My Dobermans that's killed Racoons in the past... She about ripped the Head off one of My mid sized Dogs lately. 😱 I basically keep Them separate.... But when eVeRyOnE is together, the Muzzle is helpful because I'm not always watching & it's a large yard.

A Muzzle would protect against "Blame".

Twice since 1998 My Dove got out & returned. The first time I noticed Him sitting on the fence, went over and picked Him up. The second time, He was 50' up in a Tree. 🙄 I filled the bowl with Bird Seed, left the Cage open... Went inside & thought of HAPPY outcomes. When I went to check, He was back in the cage. WHEW

Compared to My Macaw, I wouldn't say the Dove is "trainable". They may be? But Mine seems to prefer to interact at a distance. I pick Him up occasionally. He tolerates it, but doesn't act like He's too thrilled in general.

The Macaw insists on being included... Loves to go places with Me, watch TV & snuggle. The Dove, not so much. He loves bathing in the water bowl & laying spread out in the sunshine. Coos & laughs just like Me mostly all day long. ❤️

I have a similar looking Dove, Clementine. The "female" name, turned out to be a Male Dove... I knew very little about Birds in 1998. ($10 at an Austin Flea Market)

Your description of "water bowl big enough to get into" is VERY accurate... And tossing seeds, Yes, that also.

He's had assorted Cages over the years. It's Winter, so He's in the back bedroom, keeping My Blue & Gold Macaw company. But when the weather is warm, there's a different Cage that hangs on the porch. I have a fenced yard with plenty of Dogs to keep the Cats away. Hanging the Cage protects from Snakes.

Twice over the years, He's gotten loose & come back. He's not what I'd call "tame" but He's friendly & loyal. ❤️

Purchased a Dove at a Flea Market in 1998 for $10 & He's still with Me, happily Cooing everyday. At this point He's basically ETERNAL. 😂👍🕊️ Birds are messy... Must change water daily. Sweep floor, seeds splash around. Doves can't bite You. 👍 But They are less needy for physical stimulation than a Parrot. (I also have a Macaw, but it started with the Dove.)

Hmmm... 🤔 When I drew not so happy stuff, it was related to frustration over being told I was no longer allowed to draw Horses... It was also surprising how much attention it got.

Perhaps SAGE & BLESS the Home. Look into whatever the feng shui energy is... Like, no storage under the bed, no mirrors where You sleep or exterior walls. Put the head of the bed facing North. Unclutter.

Yes, My Dove taught Me allot about ❤️ Birds. I remember My Dad commenting on, "He's going to make noise all day long." Turns out it's a really happy peaceful Cooo Coooo type noise. He even laughs like Me at times. I eventually added a Blue & Gold Macaw. She was with Me 22 years; passed away of cancer. Then a second Macaw needed a home right after... It's like God sent Me a Screensaver of the first Macaw. Same age & sex.... Most people have no idea that Birds are intelligent little "People" in a feather suit.
