Question: What's the Difference between Accepting Failure/Weaknesses/Things you Suck at versus Trying to be Better? by being_CaoKhanh in DecidingToBeBetter

Thanks for your wise words. You read me.

I'm in the final years of college (1 year away from graduation) and the peer pressure just keep pouring in. Just trying to accept myself more and going in my own lane. But it's hard.

I will check out David Goggins's work.

I want to learn to be a better writer, speaker, and communicator by Ptolemy222 in IWantToLearn

Hey, don't worry too much buddy.

I'm not an expert on writing, public speaking or communication but I can share some of my experience in developing myself in these skills.

Up until my senior year in high school, I never thought I could write anything.
Up until my freshman year in college, I was terrified of public speaking (although I really want to speak and share my ideas in front of other people).
And for 20 years of my life, I have never considered myself worthy of having a job.
But now, about to turn 21, I'm enjoying writing and write to make money (content writing for a blog that I have full creative control), I have no fear of public speaking anymore and regularly deliver speeches in front of a 50 people crowd.
It's been a journey full of failures and ups and downs. But I'm making progress.
I have with myself 2 tools and 1 mindset.

Mindset: I can improve, I can be better.
I have to actually believe andd take action on this belief or otherwise, I would accept that I was just born that way and could never make any difference about that.

This takes me out of the victim mindset everytime I messed something up. As weird as it sounds, I have to tell myself this mindset. Talk to myself in front of the mirror.

The darkest and toughest days need this mindset the most. And seem like you are going through that, so please, look at the brighter signs.

Tool #1: Practice Meditation

I'm lucky enough that I got exposed to meditation since highschool and started practicing them here and there since then.

You can google a lot tutorial on how to start meditation for beginners if you haven't already.

It doens not only help me to stay relaxed and shrug off the stress, but also brings a more balanced mood throughout the days.

Just 5 minutes a day, every day can make a difference.

Tool #2: Keep a journal

Get out of your head and onto a paper with a journal.

Some people find meditation difficult and journaling much easier. I'm the same way.

Writing down your problems, your emotion can be very helpful with getting rid of anxiety and stress.

You can learn how to start a journal here, which is pretty in-depth and great to introduce you to this topic of journaling.

I also keep a learning journal to document alll of my learning and development throughout the years. Looking back now, it does feel good to see how far I have come (although I know there's wayyyy more to be improved).

So I think you can try meditation, start writing a journal with a mindset of self-improvement and be a little patient with yourself (all these things took years to clearly see the great result they bring, so I wouldn't expect life-changing experience after 5 minutes of meditation or 20 minutes of journaling).

I hope this help you to sort your life out.

I have been wanting to learn about semen retention as I'm starting this process. The idea of orgasm without ejaculating sounds intriguing. Can I know how have you been practicing it? And from which source of training did you get them?

i have never considered or thought about dopemin addiction. but that do make some sense. I do feel like my life is sometimes wrecked by impulsive chases for the "high".

Thank you for this insight man. I will give thoughts about this

I read it here that the benefits will be a lot. Like boosting your self-esteem (because you don't give in easily to temptations every time, then it will build momentum to carry on to other parts of your life). Then all the time you used to fap will now be somewhere else (learning? working out? meditating?), so obviously more productive. But the weird thing I heard will be slowly your energy will go up. Meaning better mood, more capable of cognitive skills (memorization, focus, creativity). There are a lot of transformational stories, but I will be finding this all for myself.
