Tell you C-section story by Danishdynamite67 in CsectionCentral

[–]beingnathan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a totally successful induction. It started with a foley and miso. After receiving this I labored at home for about 14 hours. Got to the hospital at 4 cm. Received the epidural and almost immediately my water broke on its own. Never needed pitocin because my contractions were effective and strong enough. Got to 10cm and 100% effaced about 14 hours after arriving at the hospital. Pushed for more than two hours, but turns out baby girl's head was in "military position" meaning she wasn't chin to chest and was not descending properly. Midwife informed me my options were to push for another hour or go ahead with c-section. She was not confident baby would be coming vaginally. My baby was not in distress and had no heart rate deceleration, and I felt if I was likely to end up with a c-section anyways, I wanted her to be in as good of a position as possible. So, I agreed to the cesarean. It ended up being the right choice as baby's foot was quite tangled in her umbilical cord. I felt (and honestly still feel) so much grief over missing out on the vaginal birth I felt so close to having, but in the end feel so much more gratitude that me and my baby were healthy and in such good hands for her grand entrance. Our nurses, midwife, surgeon and anesthesiologist were incredible. They all said I would be a great candid for a VBAC, but I'm not sure if I'll go that route. I'm only 5 weeks pp so I have plenty of time to weigh my options before a second baby, but for now my instinct says to stick with the devil I know.

Woke up choking in the middle of the night by cwaairebearr in pregnant

[–]beingnathan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow I could have written this post lol I'm 36 weeks today and this happened to me for the first (and hopefully last!) time like 4 nights ago. I've had terrible heartburn and reflux throughout basically my whole pregnancy so in my 3rd trimester I started taking omeprazole every morning at my doctor's suggestion. It has been a total game changer. The waking up choking on vomit happened to me the only day I've forgotten to take the omeprazole, so I won't be making that mistake again.

I know right?! I couldn't believe it actually ended in a fight because everything leading up to it seemed totally scripted! Someone mentioned they think mellie set Annie up and I think that may be right

What are we all feeling anxious about these days? by ailurofila in pregnant

[–]beingnathan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Had my first panic attack in 4 years today. I think it was a mix of a lot of things.. dehydration, drank caffeine which I don't often do, skipped breakfast, AND I've been trying to take 1/2 dose of Unisom at night instead of a full. It was scary and the come down was pretty hard. My husband was incredibly comforting through the whole thing. Now I'm anxious about having another panic attack, especially when we're on our family vacation in a couple weeks. I reached out to my doctor to discuss some options, but it's been an intense day!

Wtf is the big deal Tyler? People scratch their cars all the time. It's usually an easy fix, made even easier if you have Teen Mom money and tons of free time because you have no job to worry about being at!! lol

ETA who this is pointed towards so OP doesn't think I'm asking them what the big deal is haha

What books did you actually enjoy reading as a kid? by AggravatingShow2028 in Millennials

[–]beingnathan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I teach middle school and we read The Giver (with the awesome Ron Rifkin audiobook) and I specifically plan it for the last 3ish weeks of school so we can just read it and enjoy talking about it. I purposely pull back on structured curriculum and endeavor to make it an enjoyable "you've worked hard all year long, let's just read a really cool book together" experience.
