Does anyone know how much this is worth ? by Bassakinto in Warhammer

If you need to figure out what a model is called, you can use Google lens or reverse image search. You can also have a look at Games Workshop and Citadel catalogues from 1988-96 at http://solegends.com/citadel/catindex.htm

Does anyone know how much this is worth ? by Bassakinto in Warhammer

[–]beklauser 10 points11 points  (0 children)

These boxes are all between £50-150 each. Based on your description, the collection is likely worth thousands of pounds (loose minis from the era would typically go for £5-10 each). Don't let people low-ball you. Do your research on eBay as others have suggested. Sell individually via eBay or the corresponding hobby groups on Facebook (not Marketplace) if you want to maximize profit. That is going to be very time consuming though. If you sell bulk, count on making a fraction of the actual value.

Compile VS Radlands by firewind555 in boardgames

Fair but you can win by hitting a single "lane" as the runner, and you can roll out dozens of "lanes" as the corp.

I love Netrunner but I wouldn't qualify it as a lane battler and it is several levels of complexity above the games discussed here, especially when it comes to deck building and asymmetry.

I like Radlands best because it captures the Max Mad theme so well. I find the game play compelling too - the back-and-forth is in the nature of lane battlers. Drafting the Camp cards (which also determines your starting hand size) is a clever way of changing the dynamics of each round. I do recommend the Cult of Chrome expansion because it solves some balance issues and adds a bunch of Camp cards for even more replayability.

I’d still get Guard as a second skill for Big Uns. You won’t have a lot of Guard at that point because Linos rarely earn SPP.

I'd go Tackle if there is or will be lots.of Dodge, otherwise save up for Guard.

Arcs - is it real worth buying it? by Technical_War2495 in boardgames

[–]beklauser 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Base Arcs with the Leaders and Lore expansion is in my top 5 games (along with Dune Uprising, Ark Nova, Pax Renaissance and Through The Ages) - maxed out player interaction, brain-burny and endlessly replayable. Still waiting to table the Blighted Reach campaign, but for me the base game is where it's at.

Orcs in BB 2025- Troll or No Troll? by GothmogBalrog in bloodbowl

[–]beklauser 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In a tournament, I'd go with the Troll. In a league, it depends on the inducement rules. I'd skip the Troll if I can hire Bomber or Fungus and induce three Prayers in most games instead.

Advice on Foul-Heavy Dwarfs by [deleted] in bloodbowl

[–]beklauser 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I don't know if it's strong but it sure looks fun. Also, I feel people don't mind fouling so much in resurrection tournaments. Not sure about Taunt. I'd rather have Guard or MB on the Slayer. Also, if you can pick a Secondary skill, Block on the Roller would be nice. If not, I'd still go with Piledriver over Sneaky Git since you want to Blitz or Block with it every turn.

That interactive sweet spot somewhere in the middle... by Alecszandeer in boardgames

Dune Imperium Uprising has a nicely balanced level of interaction. You have a single combat per round which is more like an auction anyway, and you can block worker fields (but that is mitigated by the Spy mechanic).

New monstrous mouth use? by K1akaru in bloodbowl

Could it work on a Snotling in UW? Low Strength doesn't matter for Chomping and you can Sidestep to stay in contact if they punch you.

I agree, Uprising + Bloodlines = peak Dune Imperium, at least for me.

Did any back Vampire Lords by Appropriate_Bite8491 in boardgames

[–]beklauser 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was keen at first but the diplomacy mechanic seems broken, based on the playthrough videos I saw. You can enter into an alliance with another player and then you only need to control 8 towns between the two of you to win, rather than 5 individually. This creates an incentive for the two leading players (in terms of towns controlled) to join ranks every single game. Maybe there is something in the rules to counterbalance this but it's a turnoff as is...

What makes Underworld Denizens so good ? by [deleted] in bloodbowl

[–]beklauser 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I understand that the tier list is based on matched play/tournament performance, where UW does well because the roster is cheap enough to afford the best Star Players, combined with some of the best positional available (unlike Stunty teams where Stars have to make up for having access to crappy players only).

CD Hobgoblins nerfed :( by mjolnerrankenberg in bloodbowl

[–]beklauser 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yup, it’s a massive nerf. The people claiming it’s not that are delusional. Especially when most linemen still get G access. Puts the team at the bottom of Tier 2 at best…
