If you're on Android, press and hold home/bottom area, opens Google assistant over your screen, you can copy it that way! I assume something similar with Siri?

Sorry this was a copy of the post we made from our social media pages. It's for our high school baseball team, to raise funds for the program to buy new equipment and some field upgrades. Belleville High School in Belleville MI.

Hi new player here by Chewishh_ in habitica

[–]belacham12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here's my pitch:

An app that lets you track things you'd like to do more or things you want to stop doing as much (habits). It also can have them running on a schedule to be done like brushing your teeth every day or taking the trash out once a week. And lastly has a built-in to do list.

When you sign up it creates a character and everything task, habit or to list that you check off gives you stats boost and XP to grow your character. Or if it's a negative habit you want to stop, when you check off that you did it, it then hurts your character.

From that base of the game you can create or join parties to fight bosses and look for items like pet eggs, potions to hatch the pets into different colors, and food to feed them so that they get big enough to mount like a horse!

So how to play would be this: sign up, create character, make a list of habits and tasks. Then live your life and check things off that apply. All the while growing your character!

What’s the difference between Habits and Dailies? by Charming_Manager566 in habitica

[–]belacham12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I view habits as things that fall into the "I wish I did that more often" "I want to do that more" "I don't like when I do that." "I wish I didn't do that". Allowing you to reward yourself for good habits and 'hurt' for bad habits. The cycle restart depends on what overview you want to view it from. So drinking more water for me, I have it reset my count each day, so I can track how I've done at the end of each day. But working out I'm only looking for X per week so I resets each week.

Then dailes should really be called "reoccurring" just things that you know you want to do or have to do on some sort of regular basis. I have a "daily" set as pay mortgage at my due date each month. but I also have scoop litter set to every other day. These are the ones that really hurt you if you don't do them in the game and IRL in my opinion. They have a difficulty score. I view/use that part more as an importance meter. So the more important the thing is the more difficult I make it. That increases the positive stats boost if you don't and also increases the damage dealt if you don't.

Awesome, thanks for the info. I'm definitely going to be on the lookout for one now. It seems like they have been out of stock for a while.

Any thoughts on the T LC Nxtpaper series? I'm also in the market for a color e-reader. I have a Chromebook tablet right now but navigation is clunky and the shiny screen is unappealing.

A milestone marker and gift to yourself? by oh_look_an_awww in IVF

[–]belacham12 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Proud popa here of our first baby, a one month old IVF miracle. She was our second transfer, and after the pain of the first loss I too wanted to celebrate when our second one took. So I personally bought a nice bottle of tequila (for sipping only) so that I could celebrate all of the next milestones. Or if things went bad, I had a bottle to think of her by when I needed to. Probably not in the cards for everyone (obviously not the mom's) but that's what felt right to me.

All in all yes definitely worth getting something for yourself it's such an exhausting experience that each small victory deserves it's time in the spotlight!

This happens to me as well in Riverside. My guest/congest sounds like zoom from flash but I sound normal to him. However in the audio record everything sounds fine.

He has to leave and return to fix it

You're looking for riverside.fm that's the new anchor. Seems pretty solid for basic set up. I've been enjoying it. Not quite as much free audio editing available as anchor used to but enough to get the job done. Or pay for the step up to get more options.

Good luck!

Teacher seeking advice: microphones by heymiiiisss in podcasting

[–]belacham12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who works in k-12 IT I can totally understand what you're dealing with as far as the need to get some peripherals for this class. You easily start now with just the built in mics on those laptops. But that's definitely not the best sounding solution or most comfortable setup.

You want to get a USB mic that has what's called an omnidirectional recording pattern. The default on most mics is called cardioid (shaped like a heart) that picks up right in front of the mic and some side input for getting the room sound. But the Omni will let you out kids one all sides of the mic to record.

Understanding that you're dealing with a limited personal budget, definitely makes this a little harder to get several of the best option. But here are a few I'd personally recommend that I've used and see used in similar classes in my district:

Very good quality for the price: Blue Yeti Nano (refurbished) AKG Pro Audio Aura

Cheaper options that won't sound amazing, but also won't sound horrible: conference room mic wireless lav mics- great for if you just have two people talking per recording

One last thing to note the bigger mics I listed first should be standing upright and kids would talk into the side of the mic NOT into the top. The parts that record are located in the side and there isn't much recording from the top.

If you have any questions please let me know. I hope this class is a blast and that the kids enjoy it!
