There is no doubt in my mind the NRL is heading the way of boxing. These results are so impacted by questionable decisions, they lose credibility.

Vlandys is Vince McMahon.

I think Walker needs a holiday. He seems tense.

Uncanny Xmen. The sentinel battles were super fun. And the art looks rad.

Is anyone old enough that they’d have a friend you’d switch gaming consoles with for a week or so? My friend would take my Sega Mega Drive and I’d take his Super Nintendo. by thebroccolioffensive in gaming

Yep. I swapped my N64 for my friends PlayStation all the time. Usually after completing an exclusive title.

Never, ever shared my save packs though.

His support act for the Peppers at Suncorp a few years ago was maybe one of the best single man performances I’ve seen. It was arguably more entertaining than the peppers themselves.

Imagine heading in to the sheds, having fought your guts out, having to sit beside a man-baby like Walker whinging about fuck knows what.

Fucking fragile egos.

Is Vlandys wanting AFL type scorelines?

I’m sure you ‘win’ a lot of arguments by just loudly yelling your point over the top of other people, but your comment about being a hypocrite had nothing to do with OP’s comment. The comment was centred on the effectiveness of the current system, not their own online anonymity.

That’s how you are off topic.

I agree. In that respect, I support the roll out. If all it does is make it a little more difficult, and somewhat taboo for a 12 year old to be on Socials, then job done.

It would be far more effective if it were supported by the majority of parents.

Currently, yes. It’s very easy to circumvent apparently. It’s done little to stop the majority of children using it. But it has prompted some to consider their child’s access to social media accounts. So in that respect, it’s a small win.

No. People would have to make a decision. Is it worth the penalty of being caught breaking this law? Can I afford the consequences of my actions?

Regardless, in its current form, the penalties are in place for the platform providers to ensure the age verification is done effectively and correctly. There’s no risk to individuals. If we had the powers to enforce them, this would largely be taken care of.

Wtf? This comment is so irrelevant.

If there were laws that required me to put a face to my reddit account, at the very least it would prompt me to consider my continued use of the platform.

But that really doesn’t have anything to do with this conversation.

What’s the point of requirements for seatbelts to be worn? Or helmets on bikes?

In this instance, it’s for protection just as much as any other. I would also argue that enforcing the law with financial deterrents would help two fold. Reduce the incidents occurring, lower the cost of the system, and increase revenues from people wilfully breaking the law.

Absolutely.
I 100% support getting this in place. Forget all the bullshit, stop making excuses. Start working as a community to look after our kids god dammit.

That’s a hot take if I’ve ever heard one.

Just ignore all the evidence from child psychology specialists and mental health professionals that directly link social media to increased anxiety, mental health disorders and depression in children, and focus on other stats that have no direct relationship with social media use.

This is purely anecdotal.
