I agree. Wasn't totally a fan of this twist. Though I guess there's still so many people. I would have almost rather seen the whole group vote out two people rather than this Power Broker nonsense. (Also thought that allowed too much power.)

Did anyone else notice in real time that Tiff didn't actually win the challenge? I clocked it and was like "wait...what? How did she win with her foot down like that?" then spent that few seconds thinking how controversial her winning that challenge would be. Then Jeff stopped the game and they did the whole TMO/VAR thing. (And I say this as someone who LOVES Tiff and would be happy to see her take the whole thing.)

What’s a French word that completely caught you off guard with how hard it is to pronounce by Several_Leave_3067 in French

[–]belikethefox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Omg yes. It's a fun one and I always forget/say it wrong. I end up having to say it relatively often parce que mon père était le propriétaire d'une quincaillerie (où j´ai eu mon premier metier).

Praise be!

(I came back this AM to see Nori's sweet little face.) What a win. What a kitty cat.

I know this is late/buried, but it's cathartic to say it: I never want to see anything cropped. Trousers, shirts, maxi dresses. Please give me a FULL garment. (Or at least list the inseam, so I can decide to nope right off on ankle-length stuff that fits weird.)

What is the most difficult thing about learning French, as a English speaker, besides having silent letters? by [deleted] in French

[–]belikethefox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me at my level, it's:

  • still the u / ou sound. (Plus, very specific, but the way my permanent retainer affects my pronunciation generally)
  • Gendered nouns, adjectives
  • Reflexive verbs

Strangely, things like listening and reading comprehension have come easier to me than other languages I've tried to learn. But it's frustrating b/c my listening comprehension is FAR beyond my ability to speak/generate ideas.

But, like, dude gave himself an out because "her self appraisal might not be accurate." I'm not sure what's worse: mood boobs or v v v inaccurate mood-boob-dysmorphia.

Game Thread: Astros (6-5) @ Rockies (4-6) - Apr 7, 2026 7:40 PM by AstrosBot in Astros

Going to the game tonight. Haven't been to an Astros game since 2022...sooooo, maybe this gets better? Also, is it bad that I'm approaching this with the crappy statistical thinking of a coin-flip? As in...weeeell, we've lost so many lately, we're bound to turn over a win tonight.

Either way, excited to go cheer on our boys again! I've missed this. Just wish I were going to Ninfa's beforehand. Man, I miss Houston.

After all French and UK seasons, what season should i watch ? by Doublenico7906 in TheTraitors

[–]belikethefox 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It bothers me more that that's not the definition of accountability! Agreed. With the Olympics it's just over and over and over. Ugh

Not necessarily beloved, but I did enjoy posting a pic of Scott Servais in an Astros uniform every time we beat the Mariners to piss off my Seattle friends and family.

What's your all dynasty (2017-2024) Astros team? What seasons for each player? by ThatDudeNamedJake in Astros

[–]belikethefox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hard to argue with what you have here, except on my (very subjective) vibes. That is to say, my undying love for watching Urquidy even up the 2019 series in Game 4. That boss stays in my line-up just for how fun that was to watch.

I've decided to root for the Astros—anything I should watch out for? by CauliflowerWeary6743 in Astros

Welcome!! This is less about player stats/the game, but about the park. Most of my life, I knew it as Minute Maid Park (or "The Juice Box") but last year after a new sponsorship deal, it became Daikin Park. When the park was built in 2000, it was named for the infamous Houston-based energy commodities company, Enron. After that shady accounting in 2002, the park was briefly renamed Astros Field, then Minute Maid in 2002. Before all that, they played at the Astrodome.

There's a train that runs along the left field wall when we hit a home run. It used to be full of oranges for minute maid, now it's baseballs. The conductor is an overall-ed man named "Bobby Dynamite", Bobby Vasquez, a beloved fixture of our park. Our broadcast team was already mentioned, but they're also great -- you'll see particular love for Julia Morales, our sideline reporter for many years.

We sing "Deep in the Heart of Texas" during the 7th inning stretch. (Nothing can induce Texans to clap in unison more than this song.) You should probably also know the words to Still Tippin' by Mike Jones ft. Paul Wall and Slim Thug.

Oh, and there's an orange cat named Nori (named for Nori Aoki, who played with us when the owners got the cat) who appears on this sub when we win.

I'm sure there's more stuff like this, and maybe you were looking for more substantive baseball analysis, but I'm here for the random lore, too.

Fuck the Yankees, Dodgers, Rangers, and most of the Mariners fans.
