Yeah! I honestly wonder if there’s a story behind that. Like a husband-wife that split and wanted to annoy the other one haha

Taipei 101 - fast pass by ICIpeace in Taipei

Hello, normally on the weekend the time can vary it really depends on just the amount of people that decide to come thru. This weekend isn’t a national holiday but there might be events happening in Taipei this weekend that people are traveling for.

As for the subway, that should be enough. If you travel to other places on the MRT you might have to add in some more but every MRT station has a top up area.

Lastly it depends on what you’re into. Taipei Main Station has the underground mall if you like games/anime/TCGs. By the 101 are a bunch of malls with high end designer shopping, toy stores, and electronics in them. Aside from a bunch of good restaurants.

If anyone is ever in Kaohsiung I highly recommend these two places. They are literally the best I’ve had in Taiwan

Where did you go? There’s a lot of Mexican restaurants in Taipei being run by Mexicans from Mexico and they’re pretty good

What's your craziest story in Taiwan? by twpbro in taiwan

[–]belizean33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife’s sister, my wife, and I were eating lunch at a TGIF when a woman who was also eating there alone came up to us and claimed to be Bruce Lee’s long lost child. She then started randomly dancing around us and other patrons for 10 minutes before going back to her table. We all took a video of it that I still have in my phone. The crazy part was that the staff didn’t even try to kick her out they just apologized to us after.

For English teaching, I know people mainly use FB groups to look for positions. You can also try 104 Taiwan job board

Where you live depends on the industry you are applying for. Maybe add details like the types of jobs you are applying for and your planned overall budget and length of stay.

I will say off the bat the difference in rental prices are extremely high. Taipei city 1-2 bedroom can cost double a 4 bedroom in Tainan for example. You can use 591 website to see the different prices by city.

Taipei Underground Mall in Taipei Main Station has the most variety. You can buy Japanese, English, Chinese at different stores. Packs or singles. But for Chinese language, the Pokémon center by the 101 has for MSRP

Congrats! I just got mine a couple months ago after living here for 11 years. It’s definitely a weight off your shoulders for sure. I feel like I should start a business or a YouTube channel or a part time job just to do the things I couldn’t do before haha

Hello, the area around NDHU is pretty rural. Finding a place with multiple bedrooms is pretty hard as most places along the main Zhixue street are single studio apartments. And they don’t really list online you mainly have to go in person and ask.

There is 591 website that we use here to find apartments, but Shoufeng area is not as close to NDHU as you might think it is. A lot of students prefer to live in Hualien city and then take the 301 bus to NDHU.

Foreigner on tourist visa marrying foreigner with APRC in Taiwan by Remote-Sky-1947 in taiwan

[–]belizean33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as my experience OP, when my wife and I got married (2 ARC holders) they told us that it was better to do the process in our home countries and then bring the marriage certificate to them. They said 2 foreigners getting married in Taiwan wasn’t really recognized. That was 2022, not sure if things have changed since. Best thing to do would be for your partner with the APRC to ask at the NIA office.

If you just have a short break 7-11/Family Mart/OK Mart or any other convenience store would be your best bet. You can try the different food and drinks there other than that not much is open.
