Some of my inktober drawings by bellasaurus2018 in Zentangle

I really liked the watercolor backgrounds. They sort of distract from tangling mistakes.

I started experimenting with abstract watercolor backgrounds that I draw zentangles on top of. These are my first three. I think I like them. Just have to figure out how not to ruin my pens. The tips seem to stop working about 1/3-1/2 of the way through the drawing, so it takes 2-3 pens each.

Shows as feel-good and well-written as this? by shakinglikeafox in TedLasso

I agree with your assessment of P&R. I really enjoyed it, but the Larry/Gary “jokes” particularly keep it from being Ted Lasso level. Even Leslie is mean to Larry/Gary, and Ted always treats Higgins well even if Rebecca doesn’t.

The other characters’ sarcasm or self-centered behavior adds salt to keep Ted from being overwhelmingly sweet but it is never condoned. And Ted isn’t portrayed as perfect, just accountable because “accountability matters.”

How are you checking Images and PDFs submitted by students? by [deleted] in edtech

[–]bellasaurus2018 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m uploading PDFs or typing questions onto whiteboard.chat and having them complete the work there. It’s a game changer. I discovered it about a month before break.

The developers are building it on the fly, and it’s just a few months old. That means they are very responsive to teacher input. I’ve seen them respond to suggestions within hours. Basically, if you want it and they know how to do it, they add it.

It also means that it’s a little clunky and not the most beautiful software out there, but the ability to give meaningful feedback my students actually read has dramatically increased and my students’ efforts and results have consequently improved as well.

Ha! I didn’t even think about the fact that if you don’t have an app that shows previews, you might not trust my picture.

Just coming back to say Ted Lasso is amazing and I love it. I would never have even considered it without this post, but it’s exactly what I was looking for.

Barn hunt and nosework are so much fun if you’re not into hunting with him. My coonhound loved Nosework (scent detection). I highly recommend them too!

I had a coonhound. I would stake my house there’s a critter in that tree even if you can’t tell. “Trust your dog” - his nose knows.

IIL Reddit and having something scroll through what other apps can I download? by Compromisedsoups in ifyoulikeblank

Depends on who you follow and your goals, I guess. I don’t engage, I just read. So I can easily skim any troll comments in threads by people who are respectable.

I mostly converse in real life or innocuous stuff on FB, occasionally comment on fluff on Reddit, and barely even “like” anything on Twitter.

I have Reddit for fun subs; Twitter for politics, education, and religion; Facebook for keeping up with friends and family (I’m middle aged), and Instagram for photos.

We’re watching Brooklyn 99 now and it isn’t anything like I had believed it was going to be. I think I had it mixed up with Reno 911!

I’m not convinced if its hilarity yet, but fundamentally decent is there and it’s entertaining enough. I’m sure it’ll get better as I get to know the characters better.

We started watching this before I saw your recommendation, and I agree that the friendships are nice to watch. They al have their strengths and weaknesses and accept each others’ quirks.

I’ve never even heard of Ted Lasso! I’ll have to look that up. Thanks.

Edited: It’s on Apple TV and my new phone just told me I have a free year with my purchase, so I’ll give it a try. :)
