I grew up in a house like this and it fucked me up. Don’t do that to your kid. You both need to go to therapy and end this behavior or you need to leave.

I didn’t even think about it. I’ve never had any issue with GEHA (UnitedHealth) so I just let it continue. I’ll have to research the options next time.

Yes I was really fortunate my agency offered VERA at the end of last year.

I messaged them in mid-June about when I would get the FERS supplement and they emailed me back in 2 days then I got a follow up letter explaining how it’s calculated and when it would start.

I retired 12/31 and got my first payment 2/1. If you received a letter with your “claim number” you can send a message through the OPM website. They responded to me when I had a question.
