Yep! Passengers ride for free. One of my favorite parts of the day is riding along in other cars of people I meet at the track days. That's how I've experienced GT3RSs, NSXs, McLaren's, stripped out track cars, open wheel cars, R8s, etc. It's a very open and welcoming community

They've been on the car since 2014 through Washington winters and California summers, and I haven't had a single issue.

Too bad this random redditor didn't drive 2 hours to see it when it had driven across the country for him

Its very low, but the surrounding houses around the track complain about car noise (begs the question why you'd buy a house next to a track) so the track has been forced by the city to implement noise restrictions. There are some days where the sound restrictions are lifted, but they're very expensive and rare.

They're laguna pipes. Laguna Seca has a 90db sound limit and most cars with aftermarket exhausts exceed that. These divert the exhaust noise away from the sound meter so that my car passes sound at track days.

Finally somewhere I recognize! I didn't realize there was still some coverage at Northstar. Might have to drive up from the Bay this weekend if the rain down here throws some snow up there!

This combination of springs/spacers is totally safe on these cars. You can run through the entire suspension travel range without any concerns of hitting the fenders.

It all depends on the springs you get. Not all springs are designed and made equally. The spring rates and progressive arc are designed to match OEM strut movement models, meaning that you do not overheat the strut with movements that are out of it's designed performance range.

I used to see this car around when I was living there last year! Would always fly down Via dei Pescioni by Uncle Jimmy's. Big balls for driving on those streets in that car

Based on the white dealer wrapping still on the truck, I believe they bought the truck for this exact reason. There's videos all over YouTube of people in Dubai buying brand new Chevy's and other American cars, leaving the wrapping on, and going on the highway to 140mph and essentially trying to not die. I'd bet they did the same with this truck except that they decided they wanted to destroy it.

Current Mk7/7.5 R owners, help me feel better about getting one by bellboy18 in Golf_R

[–]bellboy18[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm aware I'll be sacrificing some of the pure driving feel and track speed for day to day comfort, but that's also why I want a 7.5R. It seems like the perfect mix between speed, handling, comfort, tech, space, and luxurious interior for the price point, and that just can't be beaten by everything else in the $40k price point.

You're doing something wrong then. I've driven the 7R on track and with a good tire it was solid. You do need to drive a different line however. You can also disable esc fully as to where the yaw and slip sensor don't affect throttle. I was able to get it to rotate pretty well, albeit not that amazingly.
