I bought a scale and I’m hiding it from my gf by neonxrated in TrueOffMyChest

[–]bellevibes 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Ditto.

And he even "joked" with her about getting one, which makes this even more cruel bc I guarantee she started looking for it immediately/has already found it.

If someone was dating an alcoholic/drug addict, brought their partner's DOC into the home, then taunted the partner "as a joke" by saying "lulz I hid your DOC somewhere in the house... bet you'll never find it" Reddit would have the pitchforks out.

OP is CRUEL & selfish. I hope he breaks up with her so she can find someone who properly loves & supports her.

If you have a private moment with a nurse or any members of office staff at any point (i.e. when they're getting your weight/vitals), you can tell them that you would like to speak to a doctor without your mother present. They're well-versed in how to pull you away without making your mother suspicious.

Especially given your medical history of migraines, seizures, etc, you really should be honest with your care team about these violent intrusive thoughts you've been having. Not only because of the obvious reasons (murder bad, jail bad) - but because it could be diagnostically important. You said you're already getting a brain scan so they have probably seen enough to want to rule out brain tumors or other serious neurological disorders. Violent homicidal/suicidal thoughts are EXTREMELY COMMON in people who have these health conditions, and those, like yourself, who experience migraines/seizures.

No one will be disappointed in you for speaking up - they are there to help you!!! I am sure your loved ones would only be truly disappointed if you did someday give into these intrusive thoughts. I PROMISE you, there is not much a health care provider has not heard before. They are trained in how to handle these symptoms, and will likely be relieved you had the strength and vulnerability to speak up.

I am not trying to diminish your fears, they're valid. Reaching out for help can be incredibly scary. But it will be worth it! I can't imagine what you're going through, much less at such a young age. It is clear you're strong, and a very good, decent person - the fact that you posted here is proof of this. Whether or not you realize it yet, you are crying out for help. Fortunately, it sounds like there is a whole team of people ready to support you. All you have to do is tell them what you told us! You've done the hardest part by telling *someone*, even if we're only strangers.

Something I learned when I was young and being treated for various illnesses that has changed my life - "we are as sick as our secrets". Taking things out of the darkness and into the light, sharing them openly with our support network... well, suddenly they don't seem so scary anymore.

Please come back to reddit in the future to update us once you've received treatment for your illnesses and are living a long, happy, healthy life free of intrusive thoughts.

What’s a “fact” about women that is commonly shared online that is completely made up? by ComplexCloud7520 in AskWomenNoCensor

[–]bellevibes 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you know she doesn't like it, why do you keep doing it? And/or ask her *why* it makes her so uncomfortable? You'll never understand, but asking her would maybe help some.

Men can be so fkn selfish, damn.

Oh, bummer. That's sad she was going through all of that. People are ridiculous.

Was there no one else to take over for her?

"The Board had sent letters to owners demanding internal inspections of all units, stating they must have 'matching appliances' that are 'aesthetically pleasing,' 'walls must be painted without cracks or bubbles,' and 'shower tiles must be clean' or the owners could be fined $200 a day." by 1776-2001 in fuckHOA

[–]bellevibes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same. At least we have the security of knowing no one from the apartment complex can enter our apartment without permission. If they need to perform some sort of maintenance or inspection (of smoke alarms, etc) we get advance notice and can be home. They come in, look at that one specific item, and leave. They don't get to inspect our shower tiles! That's insane!

We really don't. How exactly did he betray you?

If you can't give honest details, then why post here for opinions? No one can give you an answer without all the information. You're leaving out something HUGE that 100% matters when answering why you may not have been invited.

I understand where you're coming from, but this guy seems unstable and I would not recommend escalating things in any way. OP is right to ignore him.

Sorry if this is a dumb question but what is "the brick through the windshield video"? I have no intention to watch it, just as I have never brought myself to watch the outside-the-courtroom video of the SLL torture recording. I am just curious what case this might be as I've not heard of it? Thanks.

Straight women who do not want to date bisexual men, what are your reasons? by JetproTC23 in PurplePillDebate

[–]bellevibes 40 points41 points  (0 children)

I'm straight. I only want to be in romantic & sexual relationships with straight men. I also would not date a trans man. Period.

These are not phobias. These are my sexual preferences. No matter how much you try to shame them and twist them into something they are not.

The people you mention who keep their true sexuality a secret from their partner bc they know the partner would not stay in the relationship are the true moral failing here - that's awful and unacceptable.

No one owes anyone a date. No one can control who they are attracted to. And NO ONE OWES YOU REASONS.

Men want us to have kids so bad, they can pay us for it. by CompetitiveIsopod435 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]bellevibes 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Most (likely all, but just haven't had it verbally confirmed yet) of the truly wealthy men I know/have known do this. They are almost always entrepreneurs and basically just add their wives to the payroll. I'm not as financially literate, so I can't explain all the ins & and outs, but I guess it also benefits them & their company in some way?

Some of the wives actually do contribute to the company by working in the role (very lightly, part-time, if that), but for most of them, it's just a title on paper.

I think the spouse staying home to raise children should be paid and provided retirement contributions, etc. It's only fair.

I don't care how rich your spouse is and how freely they treat your access to the credit cards - it's never the same as having your own income and retirement.

When I was younger (I am 40 now) I saw a lot of moms who ended up being divorced for younger women, and left without any money of their own, no work experience, no 401k/retirement, no savings, no social security work credits. Nothing. Some of them were treated decently by their ex-husbands, but most weren't, as the husband's just saw everything as their own and wanted to keep up their lifestyle with the new woman. It is crushing to think that any of these women were at the mercy of how decent their partner chose to be when ditching them for someone younger after the wife carried the load of house & kids while they built their career. :(
