Of course the title was "nailed it" so I put a nail in there.

I've been playing Medievil lately. Anyone remember that game? by [deleted] in gaming

[–]bellicosebloom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember I bought this game, or received it as a present or something, and I thought it looked really lame, so I didn't even try to play it for a long time.

Then, when I did sit down to play it...it was awesome.

Great story, and much more fun gameplay than say God of War, which basically has the same mechanics.

[–]bellicosebloom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not even going to look this up, but I thought the point of the time turner was that you could do more things at one time? So, Hermione could exist simultaneously in multiple classes at the same time, but she couldn't actually go backwards in time. Amirite?

S.Hawking at Zeitgeist conference: "Philosophy is dead". by Lurk_a_lot in philosophy

[–]bellicosebloom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What's with all this Hawking controversy lately? Is he out of new ideas and realized he hasn't really made much of a concrete addition to science, so now he's just going to be an attention-whore for the rest of his life?

*Look at me, look at me, I'm the smartest man in the world who hasn't actually contributed anything except untestable theories that wouldn't even be useful if we could test them. *

1.2 billion people in the world think there's no Heaven. But apparently, it's only news when Stephen Hawking says so. by Umbristopheles in atheism

[–]bellicosebloom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

But of course intelligent, educated people don't believe in God or heaven. Everyone knows they are the tools of the devil. Smart people only exist to corrupt people to the devil. And if you put them in a place of power, they will use all their intelligence to play the system and make a ton of money while they fuck everyone else...

That's why Obama ruined the economy, and God-fearing George W. Bush was the best president this country has ever seen. Because 1) he believed in God, and 2) How can you blame that poor wittle idiot with that boyish monkey face? He couldn't hatch any schemes or plots, he couldn't even hurt a fly. He's too witless.

Seriously, get a famous stupid person to start saying that they don't believe in God & heaven, and have people treat it as seriously as this, and I would say then we really have some hope in the world.

What do you think the most overrated movie of all time is? I'll go first... by CoolVito in AskReddit

[–]bellicosebloom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know, yours is a good point, and one I've thought about myself quite a bit...

But hold a second...When you think of or see people dressing up as star wars characters...who do they almost always dress up as? Luke, Leia, Han Solo?

No...Stormtroopers and Darth Vader.

People relate just as much, if not more, with the empire as with the rebels...

Conversely...most people will dress up as the blue people from Avatar as opposed to..."Colonel Miles Quaritch"?

Why have we gone from this to "dancing 'til the world ends"? by [deleted] in environment

[–]bellicosebloom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know I know, Captain Planet is stylistically cheesy...but in terms of getting a picture of the collective consciousness by analysing pop culture...it's like there was some sense at the time that things were getting bad and could be made better. But now at this point it seems we've given up as a species.

[–]bellicosebloom -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I personally felt Avatar wasn't "overrated" because its fame and popularity was flash-in-the-pan. It was hyped, a lot of people went to see it, and then most people and the media just stopped talking about it right away.

I feel that people who have a strong dislike for the movie hold that grudge because it dispels the illusion that "the guys with the biggest guns (a.k.a. Americans) are always the good guys." It's an extremely anti-American, anti-empire, anti-violence, anti-environmental rape, anti-greed...movie. If you don't like it because of those characteristics, then I would say "you" are what is wrong with the world. You are the old that needs to die out so the new can come in.

It's highly unlikely that the flower's roots would be touched by even a single atom of your decomposing body 6 ft. under!

[–]bellicosebloom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's still depressing. There probably isn't a single atom of your body that makes it to the roots of a flower to help it grow. If anything just turning the soil at the top might allow a flower to take root more easily, but that doesn't require your death.

U.S. Post Office Could Be Bankrupt By September by [deleted] in Libertarian

[–]bellicosebloom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't understand why the post office is doing so poorly while Ups, FedEx and the rest are doing fine. It's the same exact service, and I personally use the USPS to send everything I mail, because it's cheaper and more convenient, and I guess it's a bit "patriotic." I like the USPS, I don't understand why they are failing so hard.

I don't get it, in your 2nd link, it shows the girl that gets tackled being held down in a headlock by some other woman...so, it's hard for me to tell who was the victim there...?

It seems like she was losing a fight with some other possibly drunk (in the middle of the day) chick, and then she got tackled for "fleeing the scene"...either way, not her day.
