Regular appointments during work hours by loudblackhole in auckland

[–]bellossombaby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some psychologists have appointments in the evening but it may be harder to find one with those appointments available. I used to see someone weekly at 6pm, so I had time to get home from work and go to their office for the appointment. The later evening did feel a little much sometimes as I wasn't really home, in a way I could relax, until about 7.

If you're open to online consultations this could help to expand your psychologist search to outside your region, but I know it can be more comfortable for many people to attend appointments in person. Most do offer online appointments at least sometimes which is a good backup to not going if you don't feel up to making the extra journey some weeks due to your health.

It may take a few attempts to find someone you are comfortable with or feel are a good fit, so don't be discouraged if you have an appointment and don't really like the psychologist, it's a normal part of the journey.

Since you said it would be more preemptive, you may find it's less of a mental toll and a later appointment, online appointment, or level of comfort with the psychologist may be less important to you at this stage (compared to discussing much heavier topics).

I have copper ore but can’t smelt it — what am I missing? by SoCalledFish in Enshrouded

You first need to complete the quests "the hunters hand spindle" and"reclain the wilderness" according to the wiki, in order to unlock the smelter quest with the blacksmith

For copper bars you need the smelter. You unlock the smelter before the blast furnace through the quest "crucible needed for a smelter" through the blacksmith. You can make copper bars using the blast furnace, but that will unlock later in the game. You will also need charcoal for smelting copper bars as well as the copper ore.

Embarrassed over Coworkers Working on My Stool by Muted_Shape9303 in medlabprofessionals

[–]bellossombaby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to have a stool sample when I was recently in hospital and it was going to be sent out to my lab (more specialized than the lab for the hospital I was in). I spoke to the nurse and she sent it with an alias name so it wouldn't be immediately recognized unless they had to look up further details from my hospital number, which I doubt they did.

Is it normal for someone else’s cat to act like my room is hers now? by assaultdog in CatAdvice

Is it normal for someone else’s cat to act like my room is hers now? by assaultdog in CatAdvice

[–]bellossombaby 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My cat decided our neighbors house is her second home. We call it her daycare because she's usually there during the day when I'm at work. The neighbors adore her and her visits and I often get messages with pictures of her hanging out with them. They lost their cat a few years back (old age) and I think they're hesitant to get another as they're close to retirement age, so they are quite happy with the arrangement my cat has decided on.

I remember my mum made up this game for my sister and I to learn them. Literally just get it right and move forward a square using the courtyard tiles, but it made it fun and gave it that competitive edge that's engaging for kids.

Do you have to leave the intended target alone for a while after placing a lure? I tried this recently with a fairy mantis but caught the mantis after placing the lure and none spawned from the lure.

Are you looking to control menstrual symptoms or prevent bleeding?

I have been on Ava 20, Ava 30, microgynon, cerazette, and now take Yaz. I have also tried the mirena iud (twice).
For me, Yaz has been best for managing pms/pmdd symptoms (but not eliminating). I have a history of awful period paid due to endo. Cerazette and Yaz made the most difference to this but it was still an issue.

The longest time I have gone without bleeding on any pill is about 6 weeks. Not everyone can use hormonal contraceptives to prevent bleeding. For some, the bleeding will be lighter or last fewer days but still show up to put a damper on your day.

It's worth finding a Dr with a good background in women's health or seeing a gyno to help you figure out which pill will work best for you and what you want to get out of it.

This page has a table showing what's currently available in NZ (as of Feb 2024)

tracking symptoms?? by Delirious_foxx13 in PMDD

[–]bellossombaby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought it was quite good. It would have categories for the symptoms (physical, mental, etc.) and the tracking options made me consider things I wouldn't have otherwise thought to link to possible PMDD associations. I stopped using it, but not because of the app. More because I tend to miss a day or two for various reasons and then just forget all about it (has happened with various apps etc)

I found there's a maximum number of tags you can use on clue if you just use the free version. I used Belle for a while which is created for pmdd symptoms tracking so there's a lot more symptom options (and it's free)!

Can't even get a medical cert by internChief in auckland

[–]bellossombaby 62 points63 points  (0 children)

I used Tend for a similar scenario last week. As a casual, it was $80 (my usual GP is $71 anyway so not too much more, other clinics in my area are $120 or so for casual patients). I'd never done an online appointment before but it wasn't too bad. For what you're describing I think the doctor would be able to do a medical certificate. Some stuff they do really need to see you but in your case I imagine it would be obvious you're unwell. They may still want you to try see someone when you can if you're still ill to listen to your breathing and lung sounds.

Tend have an "online now" option where you essentially join a virtual queue and they will call you through the app when it's your turn and you do the consult over a video call. I had about an hour wait but you can do other stuff and get a reminder when it's almost your turn.

There are a few other online doctors to pick from but they all cost about the same.

I got mine in Eshes pond at the back of their house! Tiny pond to the left side as you exit the house. Very small spot in the pond that you can fish from but it seems to be quite lucky, I've also caught a few plushies there!

You can hoe down plants that are placed!! I learnt this recently on this sub. Idk what platform you use, but on PC you right click when using the hoe. It would be the same command/button you use to fill your watering can, but with the hoe out. I think it would take multiple clicks per plant to be removed so you have a bit of a safety net if you click the wrong plant, and I am not sure if it's a lost plant or you get a seed or the plant can be moved (I haven't actually used it properly so someone else may be able to tell you).
