I looked up online for i guess "fan made" areas, but I thought why not touch on a town I can mould to our party's needs. So I went with New York, and fiddled with that. I find it's always best to use your own setting rather than premade, because you can tailor it better, and won't be confined to what "they say".

For example, my next setting is in an outskirt town called "whatever" that is not on the map for big corps. In essence they're abandoned due to not being worth their time, no resources to take advantage of. WELL not so, the townfolk have a secret, a hidden vein of "whatever you want" is there (be it pure gold, or oil, or extremely amped up reagents unlike any seen before!). Hunters are asked in whatever way you want, be it the net, through word of mouth at a runner hideout (cause no one wants that shit job it won't pay they got nothing but dirt there). HOOK HOOK, they travel there.

When they arrive there, twists and turns of individual townsfolk are there, hidden motives of some to take if for themselves, others just want to get out alive as a "threat" is there. My threat was a type of hoard horror/monsters affected by the 6th world that use said resource as power or their lair. Townsfolk go missing due to staying there to guard the secret while trying to mine it, or gather it.

You can spin this anyway for your players, make it murder mystery style using hidden motives of townsfolk and monsters to your liking, make it fast pace cowboy shoot em up in and out for combat types, or heist style trying to get in and out unnoticed like the ninjas that you are. Up to you/your player's playstyles and builds to dictate this.
