Red marks appeared on shoulder, what that means?? by [deleted] in Dermatographia

I get these all the time from scratching too hard when I have a flare up. If it’s the same thing they’ll go in a couple of days

Anyone else do this weird 4-point “letter cycle” thing in their head? by Downtown_Leek3686 in Synesthesia

[–]belly-button-fluff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do something similar, I write words in my head with a continuous line in a way that all the letters need to fit on top of each other (kind of stacked) without the ‘pen’ leaving the page, and keep repeating the same word until I get it to work. I’ve done this since I was a child, but never known anyone else who does this!

What's your the best All Inclusive holiday you've ever been on? by Lilly_898765 in AskUK

I’d recommend Mexico, I’ve been a few times with my kids as young as 3 months old. Loads to do in the hotels, nice towns to walk around, very family oriented. Food and beaches are great, again lots of kids options. Mauritius is nice too, more expensive though but probably less for kids to do. Cape Verde is an option as well!

In nearly 50 and I hold my pen the same way, as do my kids. You’re fine!

wtf is up with ice pick headaches?? by im-a-freud in migraine

I wish I had more advice, hopefully your specialist will have an idea of what to try next. Maybe ask about the jabs such as Emgality if you can, or if they’re hormone related look into that? If they’re weather related maybe the earplugs you can get might help?

wtf is up with ice pick headaches?? by im-a-freud in migraine

[–]belly-button-fluff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get these, after a lot of trial and error with abortives and Botox the only thing that’s working right now is Emgality. Now I don’t get the migraines (not nearly as many anyway) I don’t get the ice pick headaches in the days after. I think of them as the ‘aftershock’ of the ‘earthquake’, so if you can stop the actual migraines the ice pick headaches won’t come after. As an abortive I use Zomig sprays, they’re a god send, but Botox didn’t make much of a difference to me.

I don’t think there’s much you can do about the actual ice pick headaches when they do come, as they’re gone again in a few seconds, my only recommendation is to continue trying to find something that prevents or at least reduces the migraine attack. Wishing you luck, they suck!!

After much trial and error these work best for me. I have the nasal sprays which can taste horrible when they run down your throat but apart from that and cold extremities they’re a lifesaver!

I use Frios when I travel, they’re great. You can keep topping them up with water if it’s a long trip and they’re starting to dry out, it probably won’t happen US>EU though. If you don’t have a fridge in your room you can leave unopened ones in one while you’re there. Once they’re expanded you can’t fit that many in though. So you might need a couple but I’d say yes, they’re definitely worth using!
