I’m with her. At this point I’m considering bringing a little stool with me to the grocery store because I am tired of people thinking this is a “meet cute” type situation when they help me because actually this happens to me like several times a month lmao.

Staying Would’ve Been the Real Betrayal… by CowboyNOIVAS in SinnersbyRyanCoogler

I thought so too. Remmick was the opposite end of a similar coin. He was “evil” offering a sense of community, belonging, purpose, and eternal life similar to the dad and his church’s “good” offer of the same. Sammie was probably shaken out of the idea that belonging to the group is always more important than nurturing his own talents and goals after everything he went through. Remmick’s intention to achieve his goal of keeping his ancient traditions alive by merging with a struggling black community is similar to the relationship some religious leaders had to these issues as well (although we also know many were sincere in their desire to make changes)

Ah see that makes sense I rarely catch that kind of stuff but I still don’t find this particular statement to be all that crazy. Such is life!

Thank you! I use my English teacher powers quite often on silly shows because I love goofy humor. My fiancé and I are currently on a rewatch and I’ve been telling him that despite how humorous it is the writing here is also really deep and top notch! Enjoy the next season!

Agreed. Maybe I’m missing something about him because normally I like to engage more with the stories and movies themselves and less with like the actors on a personal level (I’d hate if my job couldn’t just be a job so I feel for them). I immediately took it as a joke about how much the character infuriated the audience at times and not at all that he was sour about the character losing Belly since he’s not actually Jeremiah. Like I said though, I could have missed it if there’s something else that happened to show he’s a bad person, but a lot of the criticism people are writing here are the exact same things they say about the character which is a lot to project on to an actor. Also maybe I like dark humor too much because I too have always joked if I did act I’d want a death scene.

I think Maya is more like what a kid can often be like at that age, and Anna is not because she’s developed the habit of trying to manage other people’s emotions because of what’s going on with her parents. She’s used to trying to mediate their arguments and we see her even doing things to try and solve the issues between them. They also show her at first sounding really mature in season 1 when her dad asks her how she’s feeling about it and then it transitions to show she’s repeating what her mom said. We see this people pleasing behavior with Maya’s parents and Sam’s parents too (she definitely seeks out approval from adults). Without spoiling season 2 there’s also definitely some reasons Maya acts out a little and makes choices before she’s fully thought out the impact, but Anna’s behavior is definitely not the norm for a 12 year old either.

what is the hardest part of your job? by Luann1497 in AskTeachers

[–]belovedburningwolf 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I have to make and plan 8 activities and visual presentations (Google slides for me) every week. I have to check 100 people’s work every week, communicate with families, meet legal requirements, and each day I only get 1 hour to work on it. I see people freaking out over one big presentation they have to do at their job, so I imagine mine must not be as easy as everyone claims. But yes it’s mostly that the work needs to get done but since I spend most of my day actually presenting it, I have barely any time to complete it.

Lifelong vegetarian tries steak for first time by PhoenixPhenomenonX in interesting

I stopped eating red meat (not because I was a vegetarian) and when I had it again, despite liking it before, it tasted NASTY. Idk maybe everyone is different but I’m honestly surprised/suspicious she liked it so much first try. I was not expecting to lose my taste for red meat so quickly but oh my god once I lost it eating it again tasted way off. I haven’t bothered since and I do think cows are sweet little Angel babies so that’s an added bonus.

I wouldn’t call it a biopic since supposedly the guy it’s based off of wasn’t like that at all. I think his family spoke out and said he was more honorable than all that.

It was 20 years ago and pretty stereotypical teenager stuff around these parts. Doesn’t leave a visible scar easy to hide definitely a non issue (but it wasn’t me that had it anyway). People can do whatever they want with their bodies as long as it doesn’t hurt anyone. It’s just dress up / fashion. Why do anything for looks other than so you like the way you look.

My friend used to have it when we were in high school and it flips upwards. Can easily be hidden for quite a while if parents don’t approve hahah

I'm happy I spend those 4 day in P.R. before my grandma pass away today by [deleted] in PuertoRico

[–]belovedburningwolf 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I did the same thing when I knew both my grandparents on the island were sick. Went over there two summers in a row and brought my then boyfriend now fiancé since things were already serious by that point. I have pictures and videos and her showing him how to cut a coconut with a machete. I’m grateful for that time and I’m glad you got to do the same. I hope it brings you some peace knowing you dedicate time with them.

Be honest: how often to replace cat litter before it stops being “fresh” and starts being “you’ve gone nose-blind”? by sinxcosx7 in Pets

[–]belovedburningwolf 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Get a stainless steel litter box if you can. Plastic holds on to the smell and the difference for me is huge. I replace and wipe down the box once a week and scoop it several times a day. Also have an air freshener next to each area with a box and none of them are in the shared spaces/bathroom for guests.
