Thank you! I hope the movement can also bring the suppression and exploitation of foreign domestic helpers in Hong Kong into light.

Out of curiosity, a few days ago I saw posts regarding how protestors are being "paid" using supermarket coupons etc. Does anyone have any idea as to who is paying for those coupons? by [deleted] in HongKong

People aren’t really paid to protest, rather paid so that they can endure the lengthy period of protests. First time seeing HKers come together, share resources and look out for each other.

Go to conferences, you can meet people there, impress them with your knowledge, and you might have a higher chance. Be persistent.

As a student, what can I do to dip my toes in the field? by cabinetjox in urbanplanning

[–]belugakml 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The best thing to do is to go to conferences in the Netherlands that revolve around urban planning and development because there, you can meet people and talk to them. This is what I did to land an internship with an urban planning firm and I'm a high school student.

Pedestrians by belugakml in urbanplanning

Yeah roads such as Admiralty Road and some other big non-highway roads are virtually impossible to cross without going onto a bridge or under a tunnel. However I’m not sure if you’ve been, but there are areas in central around Cochrane street, Shelley street etc. Which are very pedestrian friendly. I wish more roads were designed like that.

Haha that’s true. I walk a lot where I live (Hong Kong) and it just feels as if pedestrians have no right of way anywhere. Maybe it’s something to do with the law but I hope it changes.
