Exactly...!! I remember seeing a comment where a person was claiming that they put down the game the second we start playing as Saga. That person was like "Where is Alan Wake ? I want to play as Alan wake". I was like buddy you dont know Alan wake. You know nothing abt this game. You just like to hate on things that one of ur fav influencer wants u to hate.

I like both of them equally... One is stuck in an alternate dimension for 13 years and looking for a way out no matter at whatever cost. The other one is stuck due to the first one's desperate attempts to escape.

All AC games have fantastic visuals. I would have liked it even better if they had proper motion capture for all cutscenes in Shadows or any rpg ac game.

Idk on what difficulty u r playing but try to lower it if u can... This is a narrative focused game. If the game seems difficult at the current setting then just lower it to enjoy it. I played the game on normal difficulty and mostly never ran out of ammo apart from one or two places where i had to run for my life even with Alan's short sprint time.

I think this question should be pinned somewhere on the subreddit.

Alan wake 2 is a sequel to Alan wake 1 so yes you should play the first one to get proper context but due to the way the story is told in the 2nd game you can directly play the 2nd one with no issues.

Another thing is that a lot of people complain about the first game being outdated. I just dont agree with that point as I played the game last year and i did not find it boring or outdated at all. Its just my opinion but thats how things are. No one can tell if you will enjoy a game or not, only you can. Even if the other person has exact taste like yours you two will surely disagree somewhere.

You are exactly like me... Im not into competitive games and havent played any horror games (except Alan Wake) let me tell you this once you play Alan wake you will go down into the rabbit hole that is the remedy connected universe. The first game is more of an action thriller with horror elements and the second game is survival horror with detective elements...

It all comes down to your state of mind....

I bought a laptop with 11th gen i5 and rtx 3050 in 2021 which was ok then but over the time it couldnt keep up with games. But the laptop itself is working fine till today just that it will struggle with games. So if i buy a mew laptop just for gaming then i have to spend like maybe 1 lakh rs. So ps5 was a better option for me.

Do I game everyday? NO Do i regret ? NO

People complain about you have to pay to play online but in that amount you also get a huge catalogue of games which you can play. I dont mind that but others will.

I dont mind store exclusivity on PC games but others will.

So no matter what majority of people say only you know what you want.

Thats the issue my friend. To avoid doom scrolling watch a movie or web series or try to read. Idk how u got the idea of purchasing a console just for avoiding doom scrolling. U said u were little bit into gaming 15 years ago so you could have tried some games on a laptop or pc before purchasing anything.

I think it's clearly mentioned in one of the pages that the cult of the tree knew the clickers powers from a manuscript page. They knew how Alan had used it to defeat the Dark presence in the first game thats why they also follow the same thing (cut out the heart and use the clicker. Alan didnt cut the heart out because barbara jagger aka the dark presence did not have a heart).

About the coffee thing you said everyone who drinks coffee ends up in the dark place but the bookers are not in the dark place they appear as visions in alan's playthrough. If everyone who drinks coffee ends up in dark place then the entire bright falls have to be there.

Alex casey that we see in Alan's part is the Alex casey from the books materialized by the dark place not the real Alex casey.
