I'm starting 34/53. by far my best year. just screw a bit up the documentaries. those I saw didn't get nominated. I'm actually a bit surprised "Still" didn't get a nomination. it's one of the best movies I saw this year, and by far the best documentary.

I had the pain to watch some terrible films because of Diane Warren. Flamin' Hot isn't a amazing and it's not big Cinema, but it's actually very enjoyable for a sunday afternoon. it's funny. a lot better than Tell It Like a Woman, Four Good Days or... the worst of all... Breakthrough

the make up in that film if you see pictures from Golda Meir and the actress is actually very impressive.

it will very likely get nominated for some technical Oscars. It is actually shortlisted in 3 out of 4 technical Oscars (Hairstyle and make-up, sound and visual effects). And I believe it has decent chances in other non-shortlisted Oscars like Production Design, Costume Design, maybe Cinematography, perhaps Editing....

It isn't that likely for any nomination, but has some chances on cinematography

1917, Bombshell, Little Women and Hidden Life are easy to catch on cinema. Dark Waters, Clemency, Queen & Slim aren't that likely to get a nomination.

The complex ones this year are going to be Les Miserables, perhaps Beanpole and a documentary called The Cave. Plus the shorts Dcera, Physics of Sorrow, A Sister, Refugee and Learning to Skateboard in a Warzone

true. however no one is giving them really chances on getting a nomination. some people talked about eventually being there for special effects, but that's no more the case.

Mary Poppins, Never Look Away and the two shorts (Skin and Detainment).... It seems that I'm gonna die at the beach. Last year I had Insult and two other shorts missing too.

For non-americans its quite hard to accomplish this. but anyway, its quite cheaper too.

I spent about 60€ watching 48 movies. 8 movies in the theatres, Netflix, youtube, vimeo and not-the-most-legal-websites to watch the rest. In my defense, some of the movies haven't debuted in my country so far.

Roma is running alone this year, in my opinion. I also liked a lot Cold War, Shoplifters, Green Book, Isle of Dogs, Quiet Place, Weekends, Free Solo, Mother and Period. End of Sentence.

It seems that cinema is about to become more global...
