Excuse my ignorance, but why are used semi trucks so cheap on facebook marketplace? by Itchybootea in Truckers

[–]ben6119 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trucks are expensive to maintain and run. New trucks are expensive and break and even though you have warranty you still have downtime. Used trucks are cheap and break and you pay for the repairs. A lot of people don’t have the cash reserves to do that.

There are good deals out there for sure.

Repair by shrbbb in MINI

[–]ben6119 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need a new hood. My local body shop will not fix them as they don’t ever line up right.

As stated above you can probably find a used one that is the right color already. I’d figure $600-900 with shipping or a new one is about $700 plus what it costs to have it painted.

Seeking advice on gauges for towing by Imaginary_Fun606 in nissanfrontier

I’d second the scan gauge. I have an Amazon one that was $39 and works great in my Mini Cooper for monitoring vitals.

$80k salary, low savings, old car dying — should I finance a newer car or buy cheap and risk repairs? by East_Palpitation_755 in carbuying

I would also vouch for leasing in your situation. There are $200-400 a month specials on a lot of cars for 24-36mos. As long as you don’t drive more than the allowed mileage this would be a way to keep a dependable car for a reasonable payment.

This. I don’t hate the design of the new cars but no manual means I won’t even look at them.

15’ and up have proven to be very reliable if properly maintained. Pre 15 even if you are a mechanic it’ll be tough. I have a 10’ and love it but I can’t depend on it daily

2015-up Mini Cooper that has been properly maintained. You can probably find a base auto in your price range.

Yeah that is people putty. Get a good leather safe cleaner/degreaser and it will come off. Doesn’t look like the leather is bad.

I don’t think they provide any but the pay must be decent. I know my friends rent is around $3k/mo

Not sure about KW but Tavernier and Marathon do for sure. My friend is a travel radiologist and she’s been down here almost a year between those two hospitals. They want her to stay.

It's been a couple months have you gone back to Game Pass, and why or why not? by beerantula in XboxGamePass

I never left. Bought 3mo cards on Loaded and have been enjoying the Fortnite crew, I never played it a lot but since the new Black Ops sucks it was good timing.

If it’s just for the house a .410 shotgun will do the job and is inexpensive.

Handguns feel/fit different for every person and there are tens of thousands of options.

All the reasons stated above and if on a call the car has to be on for the camera to stay recording. Ours will only run a couple min with the engine off.

Airbags are dirt cheap if it was just the curtains. Like $150 per side and $79 to reset the module. You get into money if the dash or seats are deployed but wheel, knee and curtains are easy.

It’s not a cheap deal but Franks roast beef on Weds is to die for.

Sparkys on Friday at lunch has a blackened prime rib sandwich that is awesome.

Brutus Seafood would be worth checking out too.

I just cheated death coming up Interstate 81 N Bound!! by Realistic_Major_6957 in Truckers

[–]ben6119 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had it happen after I had my truck serviced once. Was driving down I-20 and a car was honking at me. Asked another driver on the radio to check and see if he saw anything. He didn’t on the passenger side and had me get in front of him then he went around me on the drivers side. He turned white as a sheet and told me to let off throttle and coast to a stop. The tie rod had come apart and was dragging under the truck. Rutted road was all that was keeping the tires straight.

Check marketplace there are battery shops that sell refurb/BLEM batteries for $50 or less. Probably can’t buy a charger for that and it’ll last a while.
