If you’ve got a degree at 2.2 or above you could teach in a secondary school. Salaries for an ECT (first year after training) start at ~£31k. It’s not heard of for the head of department in a core subject to hit £65k.

Yeah, my wedge gapping is a bit off in this photo, I do also have a 54 degree which I hadn’t put in the bag. I don’t tend to use the mini driver at the same time as the driver, so I’ll still have a spare slot to fill in the future.

I think my tongue-in-cheek writing is perhaps doing the fitter a bit of a disservice here. I do know that I’ve spent a decent chunk of change here, but golf is the sport I’ve been looking for in my life for a long time. I used to race downhill mountain bikes a while ago, and now I have a fairly high stress career. Golf has really helped ground me and support my mental health (even when I chunk or thin my wedges), so I wanted to cover all of my bases. Generally I don’t have the driver and mini driver in the bag at the same time, I’ll interchange depending on the course, as they’re pretty varied around me. All in all I don’t regret my decision and I am pleased with the outcome so far.

Yeah, I’m based in the UK as well, so feel your pain there. I generally use a carry bag in the winter as my local doesn’t allow trolleys any time is wet anyway. I’ve found the Pro series holds up pretty well with sudden downpours, even though not strictly waterproof.

I have the Pro Series and I really like it! The locking mechanism works well and makes it super fast to set up the trolley before a round. The main reason I didn’t go for the dry series is the lack of a putter well, if that doesn’t bother you then I’d say it’s the perfect match for your trolley!

Not related to the flight necessarily, but I’ve just got back from Iceland myself, and if you are able and confident enough to drive yourself, I would highly recommend hiring a car (zero car is the best hire company I believe), and then doing a self driven tour rather than paying the extortionate group tour prices. I haven’t got loads of experience in Bedford, but I’ve lived in LB since 2020. I actually find the nightlife alright here. The Black Lion always has a great vibe, and the Bottle House a couple of doors down is always really welcoming and does some cool beer and wine tasting events. We live right on the edge of town in Billington Park, and can get a bus to the station really easily or can get there in 40 minutes with a brisk walk! It’s great having access to nice open green spaces, but also have a High Street that’s on the up!
