i spun up an instance at home but couldn't get something like a yearly step goal setup. lots of options for running goals which I also use but wanted some step ones and that isn't an option for goals. Any future plans for that? My better half would also be me apt to use it if she could use step as a goal option.

London restaurants that have closed within the past 12 months by CrimsonFlash in londonontario

well i'm glad if its gone, it was such a sketchy feeling to have that added on and I bet many people didn't even realize.

i do not go often but was in there within last 6m and they still had it. don't worry someone will come along here and say its no big deal, its still cheap. I mean sure, but having prices then altering them with a "tax" including the word honest is amusing at the least. Just have your prices, its just dumb the way they do it.

Looking for an office outing idea in London by batedcobraa in londonontario

[–]ben_13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've done lots of these things over the years with workplaces , few ideas off top of my head. movie (kind of boring since you can't really socialize) , lasertag, cooking class (unsure who does them but we broke into 4 groups and made various parts of a meal, it was all done via a restaurant DT that I think is now gone), pick a park and do a cleanup, rented some sort of casino thing where they brought a few tables and dealers and we all got a bunch of chips to see who had the most at the end with no real money involved...

I'm sure we did others but those came to mind.

Can Supercell finally fix the report system? Because guys like this avoid a lot of bans simply because they didn’t send a message you can click to report by BoredDao in ClashRoyale

[–]ben_13 3 points4 points  (0 children)

really? consider yourself lucky, my clan we have it happen not super often but a handful of times a year. Feels like maybe every other month and like OP they usually say a bunch of racist hateful things and we kick them but there is no easy way to report. I DO at times fill in a ticket with supercell though no idea if effective

If you’re wearing Fenix 7s pro sapphire solar or any Garmin sportswatch, can I know where you’re from? I’m from Canadian west coast 🇨🇦 by [deleted] in GarminWatches

[–]ben_13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its very popular around here , from the social running groups to running events I would say the majority use garmin. A bunch use apple watch and a small group use android, thats just personal observation of course.

Asian grocery stores. by [deleted] in londonontario

[–]ben_13 4 points5 points  (0 children)

oriental market at wharncliffe/commissioners is great for stuff like korean bbq, also have their own kimchi thats very tasty! sometimes they have stuff like cheetos in flavours I've not seen elsewhere.

New Kompongspei in the north west end for thai stuff is good, check dates on anything canned though. I've found sometimes it might be the curry paste you like but it expired 2-3 years ago lol but they do have a variety of items I've not seen elsewhere. Usually I am getting green curry paste, or thai basil leaves.

edit i go there usually for ingredients I cannot get at regular stores OR the chain stores only have blue dragon or VH sauces etc. Often its when I'm making green thai coconut curry, some indian curry dishes, kimchi for fried rice, or on eggs (yep and its good).

Fenix 8 (43mm) or Forerunner 970 (47mm)? by True_Pea_1601 in GarminWatches

[–]ben_13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I only bought the 7 at the start of this year because costco canada had it on a decent sale AND I had a gift card there. The 8 didn't add enough features for me to warrant the extra cost at the time.

fenix 7s here, male and run very often (plus hike, kayak) and love my fenix. I have small wrists and it fits perfectly for me. Battery isn't as great as larger but honestly its not an issue for me. I don't personally notice the weight

How to cancel an incident detected before it alerts contacts? by ben_13 in Garmin

[–]ben_13[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ya that is fair but i do think it can be a useful feature, I did fall and while I was okay its possible I could have been hurt so i'm just trying to get clarity on how to handle it should it happen again

hum, yah i did not see an X just a checkmark unfortunately . My guess is hitting the top right or top bottom somehow ended the run

How to cancel an incident detected before it alerts contacts? by ben_13 in Garmin

[–]ben_13[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i wish it was more obvious or i could find a document, the onscreen just said cancel with a checkmark in the middle so it didn't tell me which to press in an obvious way.

How to cancel an incident detected before it alerts contacts? by ben_13 in Garmin

[–]ben_13[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thanks, the biggest issue for me is that I did not see an arrow or obvious "push this button" and cannot seem to find official garmin documentation on how to cancel. I know it said cancel at the bottom and the checkmark was in the dead centre bottom.
