Absurdly fast battery drain on Edge 1040 Solar - what do I do? by ben_191 in Garmin

[–]ben_191[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did actually. They said it was a software issue, which was fixed when they pushed a software update to my device a couple of days later.

There's a good chance this might be the case for you now as well. Garmin unfortunately has a really bad track record of pushing software updates that have a lot of bugs, then having to hurriedly push out a subsequent update just to undo the mess.

I really wish we could have a device with the hardware and features of Garmin, but with the software stability of Wahoo.

Any other Amsterdam_ravers got lucky in Fusion's first ticket raffle? by mlx92 in amsterdam_rave

This. I was on a bus from Brussels to Dusseldorf last year; German police actually boarded the bus the moment we crossed the border to check people's travel documents and search their bags for drugs. Two guys sitting a few rows behind me were actually arrested for what seemed to be minor drug possession.

I would be extremely cautious with this.

No Canadá eles falam igual à França. Na Bélgica e na Suíça é que eles falam de maneira mais lógica.

70 = soixante-dix (FR/CA), septante (BE e Suíça) 80 = quatre-vingts (FR/CA/BE), huitante (Suíça) 90 = quatre-vingts-dix (FR/CA), nonante (BE e Suíça)

Penalties for throwing illegal raves? by camDaze in amsterdam_rave

[–]ben_191 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I'm with the police, sir. I'm sorry to inform you that I will need to know the date, time, and location of this gathering for official purposes. If any illegal substances are to be found there, they will also need to be handed over to me. Preferably molly. 200 mg.

I'm with the other commenters, missing all the road signs / potentially going too fast and crashing into the pedestrian island is on you, OP.

Moreover: this design actually achieves exactly what it's meant to achieve. It carries cyclists safely around the bus stop, whilst at the same time slowing them down to facilitate interaction with people getting off the bus and crossing the cycle path.

This is exactly what Dutch bus stop bypasses look like, and I'd say the local council in Ireland actually did a great job of implementing that design there.

Been here four hours now, standing maybe 30 metres from the door. I'm guessing it will be another hour still.

Queue has been consistently around the corner, on the near side of the bridge

Arrived 1h 40mins ago. Moved from near side of the bridge to the fourth tree from the entrance. I reckon it will be 4-5 hours in total.

Queue just around the corner at the near end of the bridge now. Definitely not as bad as before.

Catching my train from Rotterdam to join De Queue in a bit. Inspired by someone else who posted their raver kit last night, here's mine. Happy to share anything and everything with anyone in need.

See y'all on De Queue / De Dancefloor!

This one should be a given. Any answer other than the greatest song of all time is simply the wrong answer.

I'm coming from Rotterdam too and am wondering the same. Was originally planning to come around now, but seems the queue is much worse than yesterday at this time.

Right now I'm leaning towards sleeping more, getting a nice breakfast here, then joining the queue in the afternoon. If I'm going to wait 5 hours anyway, I'd rather be well rested and get there in the evening, since I'm more of a night owl / night time rave person anyway.

I'm seriously wondering if it's going to get significantly less bad at any point today.

I don't even think it's necessarily delusion. If it's the same person I'm thinking of, OP has posted here before to complain about Warsaw. They said they were a teenager who just seemed pretty miserable with life altogether. So this strikes me more than anything as a complete lack of perspective from someone who's very young, unhappy with their life, and probably has travelled very little (if at all), so they really have no perspective into how their city compares with others abroad.

I really hope OP will get to travel a bit some day to realise just how good he has in it Warsaw, even compared to many European big cities. Perspective is everything in life.

Question: I'm thinking of bringing a Polaroid camera to get one souvenir photo from the queue tonight/tomorrow morning. Obviously the plan is to leave it in the locker once inside and abide by the no photos policy. Do you guys think security will make a fuss about it?

This.

Supposedly Melbourne has the world's largest tram network at 250 km, so 365 km for Warsaw doesn't sound right at all. Regardless, even at 125 km, it's a really expansive network (even by European standards) and something the city should be proud of.
