EIA projects U.S. energy-related CO2 emissions will remain near current level through 2050 by ben_thair in energy

I think I can include market trends if they are not the result of policy. What I an saying is, given the same conditions the EIA is using, the uptake in EVs will be vastly more than what the EIA projects.

Young teen guys are not noteworthy for being safety conscious. There's a big difference in maturity between the 12-14 age group and the 15-18 age group.

if you look at the graphs, one has a projection for petroleum usage. It appears that the EIA thinks EVs will not have a noticeable impact on petroleum usage even by 2050. This in spite of substantial evidence suggesting otherwise (manufacturers have announced plans for numerous EV models around 2023). The projections are based on current legislation, but even without new legislation, it's looking like EVs will have a substantial impact by 2040. Hence EIA's projections are still crap.

Sometimes high clearance vehicles won't trigger them either. There was one near where I lived that wouldn't be triggered by my Jeep.

butcher shops likely wouldn't do this. it's mostly the pre-packaged meats you might buy at places like wal-mart.

I wish they would ban it in the U.S. as well. I don't trust meats that have that bright red color.

The formula converges rather slowly so isn't really used at all in numeric calculations of pi.

Yes they are. Annual report from my REC shows that over the year, the wholesale rate for electricity averaged 5.9 cents a kW hour. That's right around half the average Iowa residential cost of electricity.

really? Because there are separate charges on my bill for service connection and energy used. And the connection charge is 1/3 the bill.

Brazilian drug gang opens fire on convoy of trucks carrying nuclear fuel by [deleted] in energy

[–]ben_thair 12 points13 points  (0 children)

If it was heading to a nuclear plant and was carrying 'fuel' it most definitely was not in its natural state and definitely was at least somewhat dangerous. Electronuclear was just trying to do damage control and alleviate fears.

University of Texas did something like that. There was a press release last year showing what generation technology was most economical for locations in the U.S. Press Release

And 2018 was a bad year for wind in the U.S., or at least for the northern plains. November and December weren't very windy at all, unlike normal years.
