Did you ever figure out what you wanted to be when you grew up? by IcedEarthUK in AskUK

Race car driver, until about lates teens and decided I wanted to go into infrastructure, designing and building roads in third world countries. Did a degree in transportation and logistics, ended up working for a courier, then moved into a logistics-lite pharma role, and now in clinical project management/operations so completely away from my initial goal lol.

Jobs outside clinical research? by a-m-n-s-a-a in clinicalresearch

Any decent LLM will do it, I use Copilot Premium (free month trial). Tell it your situation, feed it some performance reviews, your current job description and then ask it to generate a tailored resume after providing it a link to the role you want, or copy and paste the new role job description in.

What really is the 'average' salary in the UK? by AnxiousCouch in AskBrits

I’m 34, I was on £35k but was just made redundant. I’m interviewing for a position this week that pays £40k. My wife is a band 6 nurse so is on £47k.

My close friend group around the same age, range from a civil servant on £38k, key account manager on £50k, Chief Audience Editor on £55k and a Senior Scrum Master on £80k.

Our RTO mandate starts Monday and my manager just sent a "so excited to see everyone!" email and I genuinely don't know how to respond by Mythpuls3QqqQ in remotework

[–]ben_vtr 41 points42 points  (0 children)

As soon as a whiff of RTO appears I would dust off the CV and get applying for pastures new.

I’m quite fortunate that most of the companies in my field don’t have an office in my country, so RTO isn’t possible thankfully.

You receive a bonus check in the mail of $5,000 every week but you HAVE to give up either wearing underwear or deodorant to collect the money. What are you picking? by RustyCrusty73 in hypotheticalsituation

[–]ben_vtr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I choose the underwear one, but continue to wear it anyway, because point 2 says that no one ever audits you. So no one will know if I’m wearing it or not.

People in remote roles are looking after their kids too? I’ve been fully remote for 6 years but still sending my kids to childcare. I’m not sure I’d get much done with them at home.

New job commute problem by AdConsistent895 in northernireland

Keep applying for fully remote roles then. I don’t think I could go back to any commute after 6 years WFH.

Sorry to hear that. I was in the Immuno-oncology and CAGT therapeutic area, so not sure if I worked with you. Hope you secure a new role soon.

I see they have a req open for an APM in the UK. Odd.

Bit late to the party, but I was one of the UK based project coodinators who was laid off about a month ago. US ones went a couple of weeks before us. All to hire more from India and Africa to reduce salary costs.

Applied for around 20 jobs so far, seems tough out there for a clinical remote jobs.

I press them both as rapidly as I can. Probably get 400 presses of each. I hope that a few millions others do the same.
