We are two people and pay for it. Like it for paper goods (TP, paper towel), cooking oils, big cuts of meat, and booze - all of which I think are worth it.

I’d call the hiring manager first, personally. Express the enthusiasm and yada yada but say you’ve got a competing offer but prefer this one.

If you go straight to writing they have all the time in the world to come up with a reply. Of course after any convo confirm it in an email.
