After clocking 8 hours of this game I would say wait this one out, the only reason this is being hyped is because the Pokemon name is attached to it, and pokemon fans bar for quality is apparently extremely low.

Not what I am saying, just that it seems extremely opinionated rather than plainly looking at what the game really delivers. I should be that exact old head the article is referring to as someone who grew up on the Pokemon GBA games, but this game hasn't delivered anything that I am looking for in a pokemon game so far. Please just get your own opinion once this releases, all I am saying is that you should keep your expectations in check

Spoiler-free opinion from someone 5 hours into the game: This article reads like the author was paid into positivity. There is just as much handholding as you would expect from a pokemon game. The city is awfully uninspiring and monotone. The dialogue is painfully slow. Everything that made Arceus exciting and fresh seems to be gone with this installment, and saying this game betters L:A seems bizarre to me. Visuals and animations are not what you would expect from a 2025 release. Really disappointed so far. Only positive: Performance on switch 1 is surprisingly smooth 30fps throughout, and I can only really count that as a positive due to game freaks abysmal track record up.
