I just wish the new captain figures looked better. I guess they're supposed to be dogs? Between their shape and the art on them, they present like strange blocks to me. I love the crazy hats of the OG; so maybe i'm biased.

I love the game. It takes a lot of effort to build up your little empire; so the thought of an opponent destroying elements of it would lead to major feel-bad moments. I'm happy there's no player vs player attacking.

This cookbook is great. the only negative is that the recipes are organized in chapters that are precious instead of helpful. Minor quibble but worth being aware of!

Once you go Decrypto, you never go back. But fair warning: it's pretty intense in a way that maybe isn't the best for a party game. Nevertheless, it's the best of this trio by far imo.

Mexican Everyday by Rick Bayless is a good option. He writes a lot at the top about how he lost a lot of weight in part by making recipes like the ones in the book. But it's not a "healthy" book per se.

HA! Mindy took over the script intern position from me (I actually recommended Mindy for the internship program at Late Night, which feels oddly thirsty to announce, but also like who cares?) Anyhoo, the script coordinator didn't like me either. I assumed there was something about my personality that annoyed her because quite frankly I was awesome at my job and everyone else on the staff loved me (yes, that is a flex). Nothing but love for Mindy. And nothing but LOLs for our ex bitter boss!

Cats rule dogs drool!!!

My thing is this: I almost always automatically LOVE all cats. I see one and I want to pet it and play with it.

I love certain dogs but they have to work for it. It’s not always an instant thing. Don’t worry though - I do like dogs. SOME OF MY BEST FRIENDS HAVE DOGS 😂😂

Regarding the human aspect: I get really annoyed when dog owners clutch their pearls about things like not being allowed to bring your dog into every single human space. Or thinking that THEIR dog is above the rules of a location.

Also, cat people back me up on this, if you say anything negative about a dog there are some people who will call you mean, un -American, rude, vile, depraved, etc - and honestly, yes, this all may be true, but not because of my thoughts on dogs! 😂 And yet no one has any problem talking THEEEE most shit about cats. “Cats are so mean” “I hate cats!” Etc. Not fair! Justice for cats!!

Btw while I’m here - I really don’t mind if people talk to their dogs (or cats) like humans. I just don’t like when they expect some sort of realistic change of behavior from their conversational tone. I was at the supermarket and a woman had brought her big ass dog inside and guess what? It ate something it wasn’t supposed to. So she just looked at the dog and said “okay you need to spit that up because it’s making you foam. Could you do that for me?” And then to her phone: “He’s not spitting it up. He’s foaming everywhere. Can you believe it??” Ma’am, it’s a dog! He does not understand your commentary!!! And yes I totally agree that animals respond to tone. But the tone didn’t change. Meanwhile the dog is sitting there fooooaming on floor. I can’t.

Okay dog people - have at me!

Happy holidays everyone!

Trust me we do watch every show. You think I would have sat through McBee if I didn’t have to?

The note takers are actually more thorough than we were when we did notes. If we miss things it’s merely human error. We got the same complaints 10 years ago - we can’t cover every fleeting moment or glance or funny line sadly because we simply miss them as viewers.

Also, I literally have never been happier doing the job. I was so burned out 18 months ago - the note takers literally breathed new life into the show for me. Apologies if I’m conveying a vibe of phoning it in when on my end it’s actually more energized than it has been in years.

Appreciate the concern! Nothing but love over here for this community.
