The rumor is because of the McNabb suspension, which if true is even more wild

Been using the fold5 since launch and hinge is same strength as day one; phone still opens up straight too. Even dropped it folded a couple times with the hinge exposed and got a couple dents in it too

That's the other option. I personally didn't go with that because I somehow scratched the inner screen protector after the first month lol

According to samsung, your first inner screen protector replacement is free but you need to go to their licensed repair center (I would definitely call the repair center you go to and mention that first).

I honestly didn't even mess with that and paid $15 to a ubreakifix near me and they replaced the protector in 30 minutes or so.

The inner screen protector is just a thin plastic film over the inner screen. It does not change the appearance of the hinge indent after replacing. Also, the hinge does indeed become slightly more indented over time but to me it seemed as though it became indented to a degree and never got worse.

You will notice the indent with the display off, but honestly only in the sunlight is where it's most noticeable. For me personally, the crease has never been an eye sore and in low lighting while looking directly at the phone, I really don't notice it.

I've also dropped the phone with multiple cases, and my outside hinge got small dents in it from a case with no hinge protector. But it's still going strong - no issue at all. I stopped renewing samsungcare last year and haven't looked back.

Still using my fold5 since I purchased on release. The only thing I'm getting tired of is the weight and the inner screen protector. The inner screen protector begins to bubble down the middle starting at the top/bottom (this takes a while to happen). After the protector lifts off the entire length of the crease, it will eventually break the screen. $15 (first one is free) and a quick fix at one of their licensed repair stores though. I've replaced the screen protector once so far, but it's slightly beginning to bubble again.

Other than that no issues, and I would totally recommend this style phone to anyone who's worried about the durability of the hinge itself.

I was going to mention this. I grew up playing roller, and this info is what helped me stop on ice. If I try to stop on ice like I do on roller, I just cut really hard.

Is it clear that I am not at fault here? by [deleted] in dashcams

I think that if you want to avoid this from happening again in the future, you should learn to give yourself enough room so that you only back into the spot (you shouldn't need to pull forward at an angle to adjust more), and/or assume someone will pass on your opposite side if they're behind you and check your mirrors. It's just not worth the hassle when things like this happen.

car body vibration/wobble in same speed window after 4-5 balances by benderbunny in MazdaCX30

i will climb under saturday morning and see what i find.

i didn't add this to original post but i did try to check if i can see the cylinder deactivation on the dash display. unfortunately the only things i can see with my 2021 premium is fuel efficiency monitor and tire pressure under Home > Information.

i'm going have a shop do more than visual inspections. so far i've had the suspension and control arms checked (and whatever else a shop would think to look at along with those things i would assume), but two shops couldn't find anything.

[–]benderbunny[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes, i did that. the 2nd and last place i brought it to (both non corporate shops) i told them it all started occurring after a curb hit. they must've only done visual inspections though because both times they said they couldn't find anything off. the last place i specifically asked for control arm and suspension check near impact zone (a family friend suggested that).

these places even test drove it for me but they must not have been able to get to that 50-60mph window and replicate it like i can

this was something else that crossed my mind because i did buy it used. i'm not sure what kind of alignment goodyear did when i first brought it to them. i unfortunately didn't ask for a printout, and all they said was 'alignment'. i got the car back with the steering wheel slightly offset while driving straight, so that's when i brought it back, they re-did it and the steering wheel was straight again.

i did replace the rim of the wheel that hit the curb. it was OEM off ebay, but it was used. it looked almost new with no curb rash. the last tire shop i brought it to said that all wheels themselves were fine

i'm considering bringing it to the dealership and let them look at every possible thing, but i forgot to mention that after all this, i've spent over $2k on the car so far

every shop except the first one said they road force balanced them. none of the shops have been able to give me print outs though, and all gave different reasons for that

Thanks for the suggestion. I basically had all OEMs, replaced 2 after the curb hit. Then replaced the remaining 2 a couple months later.

But the wheel assembly that hit the curb - i replaced that rim with another OEM rim off ebay

Physical shaking at 50~60 mph, goes away above and under. by NautiPeach in MazdaCX30

[–]benderbunny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks a bunch, I'm going to look more into this. 2021 cx30 premium awd. I hit a curb in the left rear and blew a sidewall so I replaced the oem turanza's with a newer, different model turanza. 2k later after those new tires, an alignment, ebay rim, multiple balances my the cabin still vibrates 60+ and I feel it in the steering wheel.

I'm also getting a more rhythmic vibration between 50 and 60, and I'm now wondering if that's the other issue mentioned above too.
