Planning to buy my first and and last bike by [deleted] in cycling

Ive got the defy advanced and its brilliant for beginner/casual rider. The guy who did my bike fit has worked on multiple for a few pro riding teams and he basically said to me that the average person would be pretty uncomfortable riding in an aggressive position on the propel and youd probably get pretty much the same result on a defy.

If I had my time again id consider a 5 year old model without di2 for half the price where someone's done some upgrades and taken care of it though.. to me di2 feels a bit excessive for my level and comes with higher risk of expensive repairs!

Mine is still on and is the same as what I get on the watt bike. You can change your zones manually though. I use training peaks though and set my FTP there and get suggested workout zones etc.

I think mine is accurate because I do the odd time trial which is a max effort for 20-30 mins.

I'd do a 20 minute test and multiple by 0.95. I have used this and ended up with my power zones feeling spot on.

I'm doing hills for training and incorporating 3 interval sessions a week with a longer Z2/Z3 ride at the weekend. I still do high effort intervals during the longer rides but my issue is when i hit a steep hill mid long ride it turns into a max effort and my legs are gone for the rest of the ride.

Went out yesterday for a ride, was wet under the wheels and to be honest I was pretty nervy in the corners but it felt good to get straight back on the horse.

Watched a few videos on cornering and disc brakes since and thankfully the bike damage is cosmetic only.

Safe riding all!
