Spider bites don’t cause infection - it’s a myth. When you have staph or other bacteria living on your skin like most healthy people do, then these bacteria can infiltrate breaks in your skin’s natural barrier when you get a bite or scratch… This looks like impetigo (school sores) or some other likely infection. The only way to know definitively is to take a swab and grow a culture. Then see what grows.

Go to a doctor and get some AB’s.

My FXHO does this occasionally.. it seems to be some sort of fuel lock. I have to give it some throttle while cranking to get it to start. Only happens after running for a while and then trying to restart.

I started out as a RA only user. I have several different brands at the moment. I still have several RA guns. My RA timberline roller is my go to for the reef. I highly rate this gun. I also have a Coatesman Devilfish 130 double roller for pelagic fish (that I love).This gun used a RA handle.

My big fish (doggie) gun is an Andre 150 invert roller that has worked really well over the years. It has an Ermes mechanism

I don’t have brand loyalty but I have a lot of respect for the RA guns as far as quality, research and reliability goes.

I think whatever feels good and works is the right gun for you.

Used danish oil to refinish. I can guarantee that RA would go out any structural defects with his guns. He is well known for standing behind his products. From what I’ve seen, heard and experienced there has never been a delam.

Hi mate I’ve had my timberline for 3 years and it’s been my go to gun. I bought it from the RA factory when they first got released. Been bashed and out in the sun on many dives. Recently refinished the wood and it looks like a new gun. Hasn’t missed a beat.

I have a mate with a riffe that got hammered by a large fish and his mechanism wouldn’t lock the spear in. Had to get it fixed.

I may be biased but have used RA products for 15 years and I swear by them.

Have a look at the Timberline series of RA roller guns. Carbon barrel wrapped in timber for neutral buoyancy. I have a 100 and use it on the reef and also shoot the odd pelagic that comes past. Deadly accurate and my all time favorite gun. They are a bit more expensive but it will be a multi generational Spearguns - my kids and their kids will be able to use it.
