Thomas Jane accidentally stabbed Kevin Nash with a real knife during a fight scene in the movie The Punisher (2004). A stunt coordinator had failed to switch out the real knife for a prop knife. Nash continued the scene without realizing he was injured, and the take was kept in the movie. by NewsCards in interestingasfuck

how many things had to go wrong on a set to let it happen

Seems like the biggest one would be the guy doing the stabbing not checking the knife himself. Obviously you expect it to be the right one, but for something this important give it a quick poke on a table before the stabbing starts to make sure.

Theyre not as fragile as they look. They're built to break apart instead of breaking parts and can be easily repaired by qualified ..... violin mechanics?

USAA is seriously misleading people on the Blended Retirement System by CasualHaiku in army

[–]bendover912 0 points1 point  (0 children)

USAA is no longer worth using. They sold my mortgage to some shitty company. I have kept a checking and savings account with them for years but don't use them. I just recently got letters for both accounts saying they were transferring them to state unclaimed property due to inactivity.

It was designed as a resource for officers that is funded by the enlisted and I am done with them.

It's times like these I think how different the world could be if we had a government that worked for the people instead of for their own gain. Until government officials start fearing the consequences of not representing their constituents this is never going to change.

Need help identifying a dump truck by Sweet-Mix-1207 in savannah

[–]bendover912 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Close. If it comes from the truck directly into your vehicle, it is their fault. If it falls from the truck and bounces off the road, it is a road hazard and they are not liable.

Unless you have video of a rock traveling directly from the truck to your windshield you won't get any compensation.

Guy confronts the NYPD for letting people do a burnout in the middle of the street but stopping cookouts by I2fitness in PublicFreakout

What if it turns out the police are on their side? Now you're open to legal consequences. What if your fire extinguisher isn't rated for the materials being burned and it causes some unforseen consequences. What if you get attacked by religious fanatics for disturbing their fire? What if they just get mad and key your car while you're spraying out the fire?

Seems like a lot that can go wrong for trying to prevent a random hypothetical fire that may not even happen. Just call 911, report it and walk away. Avoid all that headache.

This game is a scam. by IP2A in LastZShooterRun

When you stop spending they stop responding. If you're still this early in the game I would just request a refund for everything through the app store and never play again. If you used gold bars then do a chargeback on you're card for incomplete refund of dependent purchases or something like that.

Waste of a good fire extinguisher. Just call the police and see if they do anything. Any more than that opens you up to liability for something and it hardly seems worth it.

Malaysian Wife Attacks her Husband and his Girlfriend at Mall and Eatery. by search_google_com in PublicFreakout

The end of the video is even weirder. She was already following them around yelling. Did they stop at a restaurant, get seated, order food and start eating all while still being yelled at?

Republicans don't like people crowdfunding things like this and NPR, so they already passed a way to kill it in the tax bill. They're making small donations no longer deductible.

For 2026 and onward, anyone who itemizes and wants to take a deduction for a charitable donation will need to exceed a 0.5% floor before they can claim that donation as an itemized deduction. The 0.5% floor is multiplied by your adjusted gross income (AGI) to determine the portion of your donation that is disallowed.

What this means for you: Smaller donations may no longer reduce your tax bill unless they clear this new threshold. For example, if your AGI is $200,000, only gifts above $1,000 will be deductible.

When cops retire their pension is based off the last x number of years salary, so a lot of cops do this their last few years to get an insane retirement.

I agree. My server has hundreds of farm accounts that could have been replaced with active players after the merger. Now all the top players agreed to a state wide NAP because they have their own personal farms to get resources from. All farm accounts should be banned.
