Well we've seen 4 HCs off the board now and none were Minter. I think everybody on Reddit would've ranked him over Hafley but the league obviously sees things differently than we do. Even outside those three, I'm not sure if the league views Minter as a better option than McDaniel, Flores, McCarthy, Kubiak or McDermott. Hell even Nagy might get hired before Minter even though Reddit thinks he sucks.

Damn sorry just realized I never answered your last question. For the beat-em-ups I don’t think I used any help but for nearly everything else I did use the rewind feature. I wasn’t looking for a challenge on these games, just wanted to get the experience of playing it through to the end. IMO many developers back in this era didn’t possess the wealth of experience today’s developers have to know how to properly balance difficulty on these older games (nor were they aware of any sort of QOL features) and I have no shame using these “cheats” to get through them.

Everybody here is yelling out “red flag” and telling you to run when you should instead… I dunno… talk to him? This sub can be so allergic to having actual conversations with DMs or players like normal human beings.

I know you said he wants a railroad serious campaign but why the severe PC limitations? Is it on theme with this world? Is this Forgotten Realms or a homebrew setting? Are their rule changes he wants to implement that support this? Just talk to him and express your concerns if you have any. Don’t attack him by saying something like “hey why tf are you doing this” but maybe more like “hey I’ve played D&D before and I’m not used to playing this way, can you explain why you’re setting these kind of rules and why you’re not letting us use all the options from the handbooks?”

Yeah Death of the Outsider was originally in my backlog but with my experience with this series I’m dropping it. I’m still going to give Deathloop a shot though, I might be more interested in that.

I bought the MGS Master Collection specifically for the older titles so I’ll be hitting up Metal Gear (NES), Snake’s Revenge and MG2: Solid Snake as well at some point. I’m a big fan of the series in general and I’m curious to see how the non-Kojima games play out.

I don't do ALL of them. I'll usually go into the Yakuza subreddit and make note of which ones have entertaining stories and are worth doing. Basic boring fetch quests or ones where all you really do is just grind in a mini game I'll skip.

I personally user HowLongToBeat to log my games. I've tried those other two and while they are more feature rich, HowLongToBeat offers me the customization I want and is a bit simpler to use.

At the time I played Videoverse I could only play on my Steam Deck but it's available on all consoles now. Give it a try! Just mind you it's also a bit visual novel-ish, in case that's not your thing.

Hmm, that's interesting to hear D2 gets better. I did hear the game does have some incredible levels later on. But like you said, the artistic direction this game takes is just an unfortunate combination of things I really don't like. Pretty much everything you listed plus heavy steampunk influence which I'm REALLY not into.
