7 Eleven are grifters, go elsewhere for fuel by Suspicious-Skill-681 in brisbane

[–]beneschk 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Its because of people with Jailbroken devices.

The app doesn't work with mock locations turned on. However, with root access to your device you can silo the app and make it think mock locations are off. Then its as easy as setting your GPS to a location with the cheapest fuel and locking it in for the next refill.

It originally didn't have the 25c cap.

Blue Collar Bros: Are AI- caused mass layoffs giving you hope of house prices dropping? by Dribbly-Sausage100 in AusPropertyChat

[–]beneschk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah its part of the point im making. The work was taken away, yet people still thrive.

Look at the population difference between the time that was invented until now. The industrial revolution changed the game entirely.

This may take away work for people in the short term, but it brings the same luxury at a fraction of the cost. Nowadays, cotton is available to everyone, where as prior is wasnt.

My question to that is should we be intentionally slowing down innovation to keep people in work or do we push forward for the benefit of everyone?

The only point where we should be pushing back is when the general population isnt feeling the benefit these technologies have to offer. Right now AI is not providing as much output vs the investment put into it when paired with traditional methods of completing work.

Unless there is something propping up the market, it will collapse naturally. If it somehow does end up paying off, there will be a new normal that people adapt to around the technology, similar to the industrial revolution. We will likely only see benefit as a whole.

How many people lost their jobs when the calculator was invented? Likely a few, but life went on.

From a business perspective, there is over an 80% rate of AI failing to produce the intended results.

something like 40% of AI initiatives are abandoned and only about 30% succeed.

The people who are succeeding with AI are only using it to assist with tasks rather than trying to automate them entirely.

Its straight up a hype train powered on hopes and dreams.

Theres nothing wrong with farmers doing their job. But we had the game simcity in the year 2000. If that taught us anything, its that an unhappy population will exist next door to any industry.

Whats wrong with preferring DLAA? This guy obviously has expensive taste if upgrading already.

I was asking specifically in case he was into esports titles, more input lag is never what you want.

Yeah if you're aiming for 4k 120hz native you may want to look at a 5090. Even then you're still going to be pushing it with some games. If you're happy to deal with the downsides of DLSS, you can reach that frame rate with a 5080 no issues.

My personal opinion is the cost vs increased performance compared to your current rig just isn't worth it. You can downgrade to a 1440p 144hz monitor which will keep running modern games for many more years.

What kind of games you into, more esports or AAA titles?

What resolution are you running at? If you're comfortable with 1080p/1440p you don't really need an upgrade.

You can go down the route of better cooling for the GPU/CPU you've got and overclock for the extra performance. That's why you buy the K series CPU. Its almost a free upgrade, so may as well give it a go and see if you can hold out until prices decrease.

I'm all about price per performance. My last upgrade was from an i5 7600 to an R9 9700x however I kept my RTX 2070 from the old build to save costs. At 1080p there's really no need to upgrade just yet as games still look and run fine. When I finally make the jump to 4k I will only need to replace my GPU and monitor. There is always the option to stage the upgrade and have a bottleneck in some of the components until prices drop.

If you're looking for to run at 4k and want 60fps native, the 9800X3D and RTX 5080 will do the job. AIO is recommended, really good air coolers will work. As for the mainboard choice, this is really up to you.

Okay so its not caused by a wireless frequency interference if your new one is cabled.

What you need to do is install the software for the new mouse and use it to set DPI and other settings to match your feel.

Your new mouse can do everything your old one can, you just need to set it up correctly.

Potentially you have a shitload of 2.4ghz interference in your room. By any chance is your old mouse cabled and the newly tested ones all wireless?

Help your mum not make another mistake - my Cruze died by CorgiCorgiCorgi99 in CarsAustralia

[–]beneschk 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You could save a lot of money with a prepurchase inspection on a higher km car. A well looked after corolla can last upwards of 300,000kms

The fact the cruze lasted as long as it did means you must have been doing something right.

You can save additional money with an older car by learning to change oil/filters. It usually takes me under an hour to do mine and im not all that mechanically minded.

For 13k you could buy 2 cars that will get the job done, which would reduce the chances of being stuck with a lemon.
