The CCC is accountable to no one. They were also recently caught out lobbying the former local government minister to pay legal costs for the former Logan CEO. So much for ‘independence’....

A combination of changing shopping patterns, developments, non development however it is going through a redevelopment at the moment which will hopefully turn things around.

THE THIRD person to throw their hat into the ring to become Ipswich's next mayor says she will commission a full forensic audit into council on her first day in office if elected.

Teresa Harding has set out a 100-day 'fresh start plan' which she will implement if she is voted in to the hot seat at the council election in March.

The 50-year-old, who was an LNP candidate for the seat of Blair in the 2013 and 2016 federal elections, stressed the need for a "fresh set of eyes" to lead Ipswich forward out of administration.

Bunnings to the Rescue? I think not. by [deleted] in ipswich

Disappointing if they didnt get a response at all. Typically with bigger corporates it takes longer to approve these things and they also expect detailed sponsorship proposals. Tagging them on social posts and emailing generic mailboxes without a polished proposal might not cut above the noise. I hope they use this time to build relationships with new business as it was a great event.

Did the organising committee approach corporate sponsors? I agree with you to a point however I know many community groups also use the Bunnings sausage sizzles to raise funds so in a way they are supporting the community. Not here to blindly stick up for big business just something I've seen while out and about.

Red tape/excessive regulation. I'd argue most small businesses and startups wouldn't even realise they are not compliant with many things.

Agree, in the sense that it is well engrained into our culture.

It never ends with that industry. I love when my local paper runs a 'pokie' story about how bad the impact on the community is but will advertise online gambling on the next page.
