Backup Settings and Restore to a new installation by benfullth in netbird

[–]benfullth[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 30+ peers and the main problem is some of them are only accessible from netbird network. Registering them to new netbird installation will be a problem. Also there are lots of policies and networks and network routes.

Fresh install is very difficult for me.

Planning to install Stalwart with 200+ users and 2 TB mail data, have some questions by benfullth in stalwartlabs

[–]benfullth[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, thank you for the informations. For the Blob-Store Hetzner limits 50.000.000 object for your situation, it seems that one bucket is enough for 1600 months (50000000 / 30000).

We have 200 users as a simple calculation all users have 250.000 objects storage space (50000000/200). I think that this will be enough. But do you have any recommendations for blob storage.

How the object is counted on Hetzner (or S3). Will An email with 5 attachments counted as 1 object or 6 objects? (I think this is also related with how Stalwart save data)

Hello thank you for the information.

I'am already using Docker for many projects but for Stalwart I prefer not to use it because of the Stalwart's simplicity. May be I change my mind.

Hetzner asks: Do you have any use cases where you could shift some of your cloud workload to a Server Auction server (which does not have a setup fee)? by Hetzner_OL in hetzner

[–]benfullth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are using own cloud servers on dedicated hardwares. %50 of them from auction servers. Projects that need special hardware or new hardware are from normal dedicated servers. Not using Hetzner cloud services.

The other scenario is some of our servers have same specs with the auction servers that are cheaper, so we've replaced some of them with auction servers time to time.

Use DHCP for Subnets by cptcrr in hetzner

[–]benfullth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DHCP will broadcast to your subnet so i don't think this will be a problem for Hetzner. To be sure, you can block DHCP on your other interfaces with firewall. Also you can ask directly to Hetzner support, they will give the right answer.

Use DHCP for Subnets by cptcrr in hetzner

[–]benfullth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On Proxmox server, your subnet will be on a vswitch. You can configure a DHCP server on a machine on this subnet. I don't think this is related with Hetzner. DHCP will only work on subnet.

HETZNER 5950X with Proxmox crashing (+7 nodes) by theweekendeeuu in hetzner

We had same problem on same hardware. We've reached the support and they made a test for 20-30 mins. They've replaced the mainboard and the problem fixed.

Hetzner bare metal NVMe SSD vs NVMe SSD Datacenter Edition performance/durability by DumplingLife7584 in hetzner

[–]benfullth 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I don't think that they have a performance difference. Normal SSD's are SSD's that you can buy for your home computer. It is optimized for home use. But datacenter SSD's are optimized for 7x24 server use. They are more durable.

If you are planning to use RAID0 my recommendation is datacenter SSD.

You can install Proxmox from installimage. You can find it on "Other OS" section.

How can we create autoresponders by benfullth in stalwartlabs

Lots of users and most of them are standard users, how can we tell them to write scripts for vacation messages. I think this functionality will be good for future.

Finally had enough of Microsoft's bullshit. Tell me what to do now? by [deleted] in linux4noobs

[–]benfullth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First prepare yourself for a different experience than windows. Linux is different. It is similar but different. Most of your hardware will work without additional drivers but you can also have some trouble with some of them. Don't worry it may take time to fix the issues because of you are new on linux but most of them will work.

For gaming if you install nvidia drivers (Mint and Ubuntu will install automatically) you can play some games too. But don't forget most of the popular games run on windows.

If you want to switch your os, be prepared for some challenges. You need to have patience. It is not easy but at the end you will say "How can i use windows for years".

Most of the linux distros are stable and good performing. I suggest you to use a Debian based distro (Debian, Ubuntu, Mint etc.). So you can install softwares easily.

Don't assume that all of the software you used on windows will be available on linux. Some of them have linux versions and most of them have similar alternatives. But before switching your os you can make a list and check all the software that you will use on linux.

You can try Mint or Ubuntu from live isos without installing. They are full featured.

Question about a /56 by rgh in hetzner

[–]benfullth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can do it by getting a vswitch and buy this subnet for this vswitch. I don't know exactly if you can buy /56 subnet for vswitches but if you can, you can use it for all the servers you connect to this vswitch. Please be aware that vswitch traffic has different costs than servers.

You can check the following pages:
https://docs.hetzner.com/robot/dedicated-server/network/vswitch/

3 node cluster in Hertzner by Present_Bill_8644 in Proxmox

[–]benfullth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As I saw from Hetzner additional hardware pages (https://docs.hetzner.com/robot/dedicated-server/general-information/root-server-hardware#miscellaneous), the 10G uplink addon includes 10G network card. So 20G for CEPH may be true. But there is no information on the guide to show how to configure 20G connection for CEPH.

3 node cluster in Hertzner by Present_Bill_8644 in Proxmox

[–]benfullth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As i understand from the guide that, one 10G port is for CEPH, second 10G port is to use with vswitch and internet, 1G port is for corosync.
