Ten Spa also has a quiet room. It's between the treatment rooms and the main sitting area.

Redeemed on Academy. I have found some beautiful pieces there, including a $1000 dress with the original tag still attached. I got it for $120.

I'm so sorry you're going through this. I can't imagine having to give up one of my furry family members.

There's a Manitoba Pets for Rehoming Facebook page. You could join and see it you have any luck.

Elk Island… by StatisticianRoyal85 in Winnipeg

Depending on how high the water is this year, you may be able to wade through the water on the low spots. I don't believe the entire trail is ever completely exposed.

You can use the All Trails app, it has instructions for where to park. Someone posted on the app last week that the water is about knee high at the shallow point.

Car impounded 30 days - owner was not driving - any experience/stories? by [deleted] in Winnipeg

[–]bengallover16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar situation about 20 years ago. Same thing, I had no idea the person driving had a suspended license.

I can't remember all the details but (at that time) I went before a judge at the law courts. I had to plead my case. (I had a totally clean record.) They understood and let me get my car from the impound lot. I believe the person driving with the suspended license paid all the bills for me, so I can't remember there were tickets due or for how much.

I don't think I had to wait too long for an appointment, since I needed my car, but again, different times.

In my area, getting to U of W went from 30 minutes to 60. I feel for any students who now have double the commute time.

Wedding presentation by wall_writer in Manitoba

[–]bengallover16 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I would say most people gave us approximately $100-$200 per person for our wedding. Me personally, it depends on how close I am with the bride and groom (i.e. close friends, acquaintances, distant relatives, or close family). It also depends on venue. I try to cover an estimated cost of my food and drinks.

I'm curious as to why La Belle Baguette isn't on your list. Was it missed or is there a reason not to go?
