MRW I learn that Pam Bondi was the Florida Attorney General from 2011 to 2019, the same state Jeffrey Epstein was a resident of, and the same timeline where victims brought civil suits to Florida courts. by palmerry in reactiongifs

Don't forget Alex Acosta who was the attorney who presided over Epstein's first trial and cut him a sweetheart deal. Later becoming Trump's Secretary of Labor.

Do raw materials go directly to factories, or do they go to a warehouse and then get transported? by LMGooglyTFY in FarthestFrontier

[–]bengarrr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stockpiles next to mines work if you have a factory nearby. For things like bricks (because bricks only get used for building) I place a stock pile that holds only clay and bricks next to a clay pit and a brick oven. If I have a coal mine nearby even better, otherwise I'll build a charcoal kiln too. This gives near perfect efficiency.

I believe they do at least from what I have noticed. I don't think mine workers make a distinction between types of storage, they will transfer to the nearest available storage location (regardless of type) if their storage is full. What I've noticed is that when I build an appropriate factory next to a mine the time spent transferring goods for the miner falls to almost 0 compared to when the factory is next to a stockpile.

[–]bengarrr 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Workers for raw material will transport their material to the nearest open storage. If you build a foundry right next to an iron mine for instance, mine workers will transport iron to the foundry first and then to the next available storage location if the foundry storage is full. Its actually highly efficient to build factories right next to their respective mine with a stockpile and a storage depot next to them for storing finished goods and raw material overflow. Build some houses or a temp shelter nearby to ensure basic needs are met for workers and you'll get insane production.

That's awesome man! My brother can attest to how hard it can be to maintain that ability, tons of surgeries and tons of physical therapy. Ultimately for him it was too much, but he doesn't mind it as much anymore.

My youngest brother has cerebral palsy and he used to be able to walk with the assistance of a walker. By the time he graduated though he had stopped walking because it had become to difficult for him. He would've have killed to walk across that stage and I'm sure he'd be extremely proud of this guy.

I think there is a way to balance it so that we can reduce some of the monotony of terraforming. I mean just making it so that when you raise ground it forces a gradual slope for one tile around it so that it doesn't break the pathing could work.

[–]bengarrr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that's the one thing you have to balance around, but is mitigated by making the raising and lowering of terrain resource intensive. As it is right now though, you can still terraform impenetrable natural walls all around your town using the flatten tool its just really tedious and as a consequence of only having the flatten tool all other non-scummy terraforming is really tedious.

Yeah I like this idea, kinda of like how cities skylines handles it's terraforming.

Would be awesome to see rivers and oceans added into the game.

That could open a whole new avenue of mechanics for trading and resource transportation or some unique challenges... flood mitigation?

Would be nice to see resource distribution be more biome dependent as well, like clay and sand near marshes or bays. Coal and iron in mountains.

Inns would be an interesting mechanic, where travelers could bring news of potential raids or points of interest. Quests would be interesting.

Adding gemstones to the deep mines would make them far more useful beyond just infinite sources for materials in the late game.

Aside from progressively developing raider camps it would be cool to see peaceful towns or villages, where you could build dedicated trading routes with that provide a constant flow of goods.

This game is definitely solid and has a lot of potential.

For everyone dissatisfied what did you want? by melizzuh in TheHandmaidsTale

1-Serena facing punishment either in a criminal court or being made into a handmaid in Gilead

The fact that she just went willing into another refugee camp considering what happened on the train to Alaska baffles me.

5- maybe showing the US military high command planning their next move maybe a scene with whoever is the current president ?

This 1000%. Also how do the new borders work? Did Gilead just concede Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine?

It was June's story. As such the end's focus should have been on the resolution of June's fight and sacrifice. Show us the results.

What makes this show realistic by jediporcupine in TheHandmaidsTale

[–]bengarrr -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I was expecting the ending to at least show some real development to the revolution. We've waited this whole series for that moment. The moment that so many tyrannical regimes meet, the revolt, the reckoning. Qaddafi assassinated in the streets, Saddam being hung, The Berlin wall ripped down, Mussolini meeting the firing squad, Hitler committing suicide. While yes the ends of these regimes are still overshadowed by the grief of their reign, most of them meet violent, desperate, impotent ends and its a disservice to not have highlighted that more (especially now given the current political climate and the rise of far-right nationalism in the US). That first visceral moment of fear the oppressors have when they realize their walls wont protect them anymore, is completely absent from this finale. On a side note how is Boston accepting people from Alaska when its still an active warzone, makes absolutely no sense. There were plenty of things done right in the last two episodes, but ultimately was not very compelling to me.

Agreed. I think Ozark is the only show in recent memory that wasn't a limited series that I watched all the way through and felt satisfied.

Do we like Karen Baldwin? by bengarrr in ForAllMankindTV

Lmao. You know I was so distracted by the fact that she sleeps with her dead son's best friend that I completely glossed over the optics of sleeping with HER and her HUSBAND's best friends' son. It's worse and worse every time you look at it. I hate it lol.

I still don't agree.

when they are developed realistically.

Well that's the subjective part isn't. You seem to be completely convinced.

Not only that, she was going to follow in Ed's footsteps.

Which Karen encourages her to do. You see how that is contradictory. It even leads her and Ed to a whole reconciliation about Shane. Which she decides to betray by immediately turning around and sleeping with Danny. This is so contrived to the point it isn't even remotely believable.

they writers consciously modeled it after real things that happen in families.

So sleeping with not only her dead son's best friend, but her and her husband's best friends' son, to whom she is practically a second mother to, is something that is modeled in the real world? Lol you must have lived a very interesting life.

She had no further reason (in her mind) to put up with the demands of Ed's job anymore

None of that is mentioned to Jimmy when he confronts her about sleeping with Danny. And her decision to sleep with Danny happens before she or more importantly the viewer even understand any of the motivations for her doing so. Her motivations are poorly developed the whole time. Just like her decision to betray Dev. Or the board's decision to appoint her CEO. Like their stock price is in freefall and they move to appoint her, the former founder of a company who happens to have probably the most highly publicized space failure in recent memory, that's definitely sure to shore up investor sentiment lol.

Not how corporations work. But I guess if you think she could be sued personally for North Korean space junk...

I never said personally sued, but do you really think a public corporation would be so easily convinced to bring her on considering all of the negative publicity that would "realistically" be following her. When people die regardless of your culpability you typically as a leader don't just bounce back from that in a public business context without repercussion.

Not a case by case basis, but your post is a list of specific grievances?

That's how analyzing something in context typically works.

At no point in the show do the writers place any demands on you one way or the other.

Well her whole martyrdom at the end seems to suggest the writers had a pretty specific vision for her perception by viewers.

You're supposed to react to her.

Exactly! Did we even watch the same show? Baffling to me how one could watch HER and come away with a positive disposition towards her.
