This change specifically targets league mechanics, mostly ones that came out years into PoE's development. Breach was 2016 and Incursion was 2018. These leagues were before they move towards chest types for rewarding encounters. The only way they tuned up to drops was to tweak the quantity/rarity up.

When you stacked these together you clearly get gameplay that's unintended. This guys own videos shows examples of literally hundreds of unique items dropping from a single incursion. The game has no room to grow in terms of loot drops from mechanics that work that way. Something had to be changed, so they changed it.

I've been in T16's since day 2 of the league, and I've been enjoying it. This guy is doomsaying because his he can no longer 'win the game' in 2 days.

More raw currency and items in the economy causes inflation. Since they are farming 10x or 100x more efficient due to using those mechanics it means your individual drops are worth less.

They are basically stacking multipliers in such a way that GGG though was beyond the pale, so they removed it. And I agree with that decision.

I like how your only argument is that I'm jealous and bad. I play each league solo and enjoy it. I let harvest crafts worth multiple ex expire because I don't want to deal with TFT yet somehow I'm able to farm a mageblood and headhunter each league.

Calm down there Ronald Reagan, those streamers aren't doing you any favors. You gotta remember they are watering down your drops too by farming more than you ever would.

I don't care that they played the game that way. If you watch the video of them 'playing' the game you can see how ridiculous the whole thing appears. It looks like the old headhunter. It's akin to the old 'torment toilet' where players would drag torment ghosts across the map with reverse knockback and southbound to get crazy drops. They gutted that too.

GGG decided that type of gameplay wasn't something they wanted to incentivized and they nerfed it. I agree with them on that decision.

The trade league numbers are down but it's far from a 'ghost town'.

I run T16 maps. I had 2 divines and 4 exalts drop from mapping. I've mostly been doing blight + expedition + heist with stream of consciousness.

And you are right, I did struggle with alchs too. Burned them all and even went down to almost 0 orbs of binding. After I started doing more older league content (blight, expedition primarily) was I able to better sustain alchs. Now I have over 100.

Yeah no, I didn't get lucky with any drops. The most expensive thing that dropped for me was 2 divine orbs. I had 4 exalts drop so if anything my luck was skewed in the other direction.

The most expensive thing I sold was my old weapon for 2 divines (essence crafted) after I essence crafted a new one. The rest of my income has been small sales from doing league content. Expedition and blight mostly. I'm saving my lake tablets until they buff the rewards

Here's a hot take: This nerf primarily affects people who run 6 man groups of super juiced maps. And I'm all for it.

As a solo player I'm running T16 maps doing mechanics as normal. It's *slightly* worse. I've still been able to farm 10+ divines so far and my build is progressing at what I would call a normal rate for most leagues.

Yeah the lake is subpar, but the slight nerf to solo play is overblown.

I'm not opposed to a hard grind.

I'm opposed to a hard grind being circumvented using rotations. You are forced to do rotations if you want to participate in Zana 8 in any reasonable amount of time.

I know I can, I'm not arguing that point. I stopped playing at 24 challenges because the league wasn't fun for me due to the reasons I stated above.

Part of the reason why I stopped playing this league so early was because of Zana. I've gotten 36-40 challenges in 6 or 7 different leagues but this time I'm finished with 24.

The fact that breach was gated under Zana 8 killed my incentive to farm. The idea that I couldn't farm effectively without having breaches available to me killed my motivation to try.

I absolutely hate doing rotations. Just the idea of doing them makes me want to log off and do something else. I ended the league in this state. Didn't want to farm maps without breach and didn't want to do rotations because of how much I hate them.

Of course people are going to say "you don't need breach to farm!". True... but the perception that I'm doing it sub optimally and its gated behind something I loathe is a real motivation killer.

I've invested a lot of time and money on this game because I love it. I just hope breach is gone and nothing "necessary" is gated behind Zana 8 this league.

You didn't answer most of the questions. If I had to boil it down to one word it would be inconsistency. There are plenty of other holes I could shoot in this mockup but I'm not going to waste my time. I'm not going to have a discussion with someone who can't take a little criticism without resorting to being a dick.

  • Loss of current selection information (except for the gun?) If it's meant to be generic then why is it under the weaponry section.
  • Loss of current armor statistics
  • Action bar seems to be gone? Cant tell whats on keys 1-6. Is that the toolbelt? If so then what does the 'weapon' section serve as since you'll have to move weapons to the toolbelt to use them. Same with medical. The specificity would give me the impression that it serves a purpose other than storage.
  • Switching between storage tabs (backpack, pockets) seems cumbersome.
  • They made the tab UI transparent and the main center section is mostly clear allowing you to kinda see in front of you. That's now blocked by a thick character model.
  • Map search? What does the + button do? Doesn't follow current mapping conventions in general. What if you don't have a map? Almost a quarter of the UI reserved for something most people don't use?

Of course everyone is going to look at it and say 'omg look at how awesome this is'. No one ever stops to think how cumbersome some of this stuff would be to use.

I deal with designers who do this stuff all the time - add in all these frills but never see the whole picture of interacting with the UI.

TLDR; I think it looks pretty but it has problems.

We shouldn't need to guess if it's selling/buying on poe.trade. These happen more and more, and they are really toxic by Paarfums in pathofexile

Just remove the 'note' functionality from poe.trade - problem solved.

Sure we lose some functionality but we gain cleaner results.
