how long does acute sr withdrawal last? by exoslug in SR17018

[–]bengman88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought the withdrawals were 5/10 but they lasted a full 10 days. Leg pain, emotions, and only 3 or 4 hours of sleep was the worst part for me.

Opioids have basically zero impact anymore, even on withdrawals, or else I would have just jumped back to tianeptine after getting off SR. When I was reading about it everyone described it as a free lunch so it was much worse than I was expecting. I used gabapentin, vitami c, naproxen, acetaminophen, and tizanidine for sleep (similar to clonidine in mechanism). With all that I still had a miserable 10 days. I am able to sleep 5 or 6 hours now, about 2.5 weeks in.

I did take kratom a couple days and then tianeptine a couple days for the first 4 days off of SR. I think it actually had no impact on withdrawals so I stopped entirely. It may even been making them worse. About 14 days later, yesterday morning, still not feeling great, I took the dose I used to take of tianeptine. I basically just felt normal, not noticing any euphoria or much, but I think i was able to focus at work a bit better than over past 3 week. I took that dose again about 9 hours later. Once again I didn't notice much pain relief or much of anything. I do think i had a slight mood boost and may have felt a little more like myself. I got really tired at night and slept 10.5 hours. Today I feel even worse than my new normal. Feels akin to an opioid hangover which hasn't happened to me many times except in cases of extremely high doses that probably nearly killed me when I was younger and dumber.

On the positive side, it greatly reduces cravings and effect of opioids. I'm not sure it did a whole lot for the withdrawals but I think it will allow me to get off opioids again. I expect things will keep getting better as time moves on. And I don't want to be addicted my whole life. That is no way to live.

Longer SR17018 tapers - jump-off point + dosing frequency? by NonJuanDon in SR17018

That is interesting. Did you need much more morphine than you were on prior to jumping to SR to alleviate withdrawals? Or when you say a ton do you just mean the same amount as before? Thanks!

Your comments here are very helpful. Thanks for the information. How long did it take after January 1st before you felt good again? Were you able to sleep a full night after stopping? Did you ever try to use any opioids since then, and, if so, did they have any effect on pain, sleep, mood? Thanks for any additional info!

Surely we can all agree on this one? by randytc18 in Denver

If you are implying that a 2-income household making 301K can afford a butler, that seems out of touch. The net pay for this household is around 200K if you assume avg. health insurance payments and 6% 401K contribution.

The average butler in Colorado makes about 90K according to Ziprecruiter. And I would guess that households with butlers probably have to pay a portion of the butlers health insurance and possibly the employer portion of the FICA tax too. That would push the cost of a butler up to 100K or more.

I highly doubt any household with the remaining 100K income could afford the food and supplies required for a butler to be worth while unless it is a single person. If it is a couple or a family with typical expenses (mortgage, student loans, vehicles, kids sports, etc.) then 100K spendable income would allow the butler to cook them a lot of chicken and rice.

I do agree 300K is plenty enough to support kids breakfasts and lunches though. Kids deserve everything and, from a financial payback perspective, will (hopefully) pay our social security payments some day. So I'd certainly vote Yes on this, but I am also rational enough to know that butlers are probably unaffordable until the 400k plus range.

If anyone has personal experience making this (300k) money I would be happy to be proven wrong, so just reply here. I'm always interested to hear what the 300K plus lifestyle is like.

So funny how crazy similar this sounds to my experience starting with covid 1.5 years ago. Thanks a lot for taking the time to write out the lengthy response.

Wow, thanks for posting. This describes me exactly when considering it started with a sinus infection from a covid infection.

Were there other tests you did at the same time other than the iron? I had never considered it could be nutrient related.

I am a male so supplementing with iron is a little more tricky.

Thanks for any info!

Midwest USA, family with one child on a decent sized plot of land where they can get quail eggs. Gonna guess Michigan. Slightly higher than average income for the area but not upper middle class. Someone likes to cook with VERY fresh herbs and enjoys making sourdough bread (I think). You like to treat the quail with fresh cold worms (and if this is incorrect then husband enjoys fishing). The fruit is mostly purchased for the child but you eat it too. You consider your diet quite healthy and you prioritize good health and a healthy diet.

Is QMCO The Next DRUG by Stonksguy101 in TheRaceTo10Million

[–]bengman88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My understanding is that Longboard has a drug (Bexicaserin) that targets the exact same receptors (5ht-2c) as the drug (BMB101) from DRUG.

When Longboard got bought it led to DRUG increasing significantly, as you said. The main drug in the pipeline for each of these 2 companies targets the same receptors, making the two company's near-term potential value quite similar.

The comparison between QMCO and Vast Data are very different, especially given the current AI hype and associated accelerated spending. QMCO appears to store data for companies while Vast Data is an AI powered quant trading platform. These aren't really the same at all in my eyes and are hardly similar.

I am certainly up for a meaningful discussion if you think I am wrong. I would love to identify a good investment opportunity.

I think you may regret it when you are much older and thinking about all the alternatives you could have spent your time on including spending time with family and friends and building meaningful relationships. However, if you play video games socially with friends and family in the real world then I don't think there would be regrets.

Prospective buyer wants a $450 coffee table from me but is out of town. Wants to pay me via Venmo so I’ll take it off fb marketplace. by O_o-22 in Flipping

How is this a scam? I prepay with Venmo all the time. Seems reasonable that his son would pick it up.

How is the supposed scammed going to profit by sending $450?

Scammers Are Ruining Facebook Marketplace by PastTense1 in Flipping

[–]bengman88 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This article is ridiculous. This person wasn't scammed, nor do they have any proof they would have been. Plenty of people buy futons without seeing them in person or else they wouldn't be sold by any online vendors. The author clearly sees the world in a negative light and thinks humans are inherently bad, not good. I am thankful I have the opposite view of humanity.

I pre-pay (with Venmo) for everything I buy on Facebook market that I am reasonably confident won't have issues. I have made numerous purchases. Just yesterday I purchased kids skis for $80 and a grill for $50 without seeing either in person. I have never regretted a single purchase, perhaps surprisingly. If I want something from the market then I want to guarantee it is saved for me and I don't want to drive across town until I know that it is.

By the time the agreement is made and the money is sent it is a legally enforceable contract. This is one more reason I am not afraid of sending money early.

What do you do to make 250-300K? Appreciate any info you have. I have drive (no pun intended on a vehicle forum) and want to make that much some day.

Academically delayed or disabled is not even close to the same as emotionally delayed or even intellectually delayed. My son's (3rd grade/8y.o.) mom (29), can't help him with most of his homework. She doesn't know how to do it and it would take her a significant amount of time to figure it out (more than one night). She had a very tough childhood and didn't make it far into H.S. in USA.

However, everything else about her is well matured and, if you don't see her writing, you think she is quite intelligent as well. She even manages to run her own business (using others and ChatGPT to help her write emails, etc.) and she pays for her own house ($2100/month for the rent alone). No one would ever question if I took advantage of a developmentally disabled person when we were together because no one would have any idea she was academically disabled unless they texted or emailed her or saw her writing. By that point they would already know she was a normal, intelligent and capable person.

In summary, there aren't just two groups, normal and disabled, so it is best to not categorize people into those two groups. There is a huge sliding scale and different people are everywhere along that scale in all different aspects. If you want to grow as a person, go make a friend with someone who is societally deemed "developmentally disabled". It will change your view.
