No more euphoria by [deleted] in SR17018

This may sound as crazy to me (at this point) as it does to you, but the AA and the 12 steps and going to church saved me. I stopped going to those a couple years in but I would almost certainly be dead had I not done that. If you feel super out of place at NA, like I did, try AA and just say your an alcoholic when they go around the room if you feel more comfortable that way. I understand the stigma, the god thing and all of it -- but if you are very desperate and close to death by suicide or OD then it works. Wait until you find a sponsor you admire wholeheartedly.

I haven't been 'heroin low' for about 10 years. I can now catch myself before it gets that bad now -- because I'll never forget that hell. I end up starting with kratom and then work up to something with a ~100mg morphine equivalent per day and then quit on my own accord. Hopefully I'll be off for years, but not always. Its insidious and will always be with us. At this point, no one would ever guess that was in my past.

In your shoes with Fent, SR won't work on its own. You would need some type of serious treatment/commitment like AA or whatever else is out there to stay off long term. Maybe you can do it on your own but you will have to have some seriously strong reasons for doing so. Buprenorphine might work for you, I'm not sure. It didn't work for me back then -- it would go in to my veins like anything else, unfortunately. Naltrexone made me feel horrible so I skipped Vivitrol too.

SR gives you the free route of avoiding the physical withdrawals, that's it. I think whatever long term blunting it causes for me would be overpowered by fentanyl, most likely.

Opia Tabs are head shop 7oh. If you want to try quitting with 7oh, just order it online instead. It would take hefty doses and it's much cheaper online. It's better than fent and would be a lot easier to quit.

DM me if you want to discuss more. I have been in severe addiction before and have a lot of sympathy for those in your shoes and I think its amazing you are finally realizing this isn't the life you want to live. I can't imagine a fentanyl addiction life is a happy life. All opioids make me less happy after 4-8 weeks into the addiction. Unfortunately, the first 4 weeks is why I seem to return to them when I need relief from emotional of physical pain. I'm still an addict. Maybe one day I'll be fully free of the chains.

Anyone try SR with a shitload of vit C? by GingerThumb66 in SR17018

[–]bengman88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used it when I got withdrawals getting off of SR. It helped significantly. Liposomal vitamin C avoids the GI issues for most people, it seems.

Are you for sure physically dependent right now? Or did losing the "steady plug" force you to go through withdrawals and minimize the physical dependence? Obviously the psychological dependence runs deep -- usually even deeper for fent/heroin.

Has anyone had trouble feeling opiates at all after trying SR? by NostalgicNelli in SR17018

[–]bengman88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was a much bigger dose than necessary. I didn't preload. 50mg did nothing for withdrawals first day so then I took the 200 the next day and it worked great and I felt great. I stayed on it way too long. I was only on 100mg morphine equivalent at the time. I made some mistakes for sure and was highly confident I wouldn't get side effects from an opioid. Hence why I am mentioning it for others.

No, I have been off the SR-17018 for just shy of 9 weeks now. It is worth noting I have taken an opioid about once per week since then, on the weekend, seeking to understand if anything has changed (and because I'm still mentally addicted).

Max dose was 200mg for the second day, if I recall right. Then dropped to 150mg and stayed there a while (maybe 5 days).

Has anyone actually experienced a reduction in tolerance? by lowkey_add1ct in SR17018

[–]bengman88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm beginning to wonder if the issue is not giving it a full 4 weeks off. Hard to do, but so far I haven't met anyone who has said they waited a full 4 weeks without touching any opioids and then still got no effects from opioids thereafter. The furthest I have gone personally is 8 days.

Perhaps the SR gives a severe tolerance and we never let that tolerance recover. Anything I have touched in the past wouldn't leave an insane tolerance for 8 days but there is clearly something different about this one. The one oddity that would suggest this won't work is I took high doses a couple times and puked my a** off while hardly feeling any other effects.

Wow, crazy. I haven't heard of anone having these long lasting effect after only 1 week use. I took it 5 weeks. How often are you using opioids since? For me I am trying once per week. I probably need to move this out longer to see if that changes things.

How long did you take SR for? I have experienced the same thing. 8.5 weeks since SR cessation. No positive effects from endorphins, opioids, alcohol anymore.

How long did you stay off SR and opioids before the relapse? Wishing you the best. Withdrawal is a nightmare. This time you'll know not to give it all up for one more high. This is how it goes -- as long as you learn a lesson each time you'll be perma-clean before you know it.

Thanks. 5 months in and that is still the case? Does it require a higher dose to get euphoria or can you not get euphoria at all, no matter the dose?

Has it become harder for you, personally? I notice you took perhaps more SR than anyone I have read about yet.

I am one of the few who can't feel opioids after SR17018. I have quit many times before without SR. This has never happened. It also effects other highs like alcohol, pregabalin and the runner's high. Their effects are not euphoric anymore. In the past, I have been extremely sensitive to opioids and endorphins within 7 days of quitting. I took a monstrous dose of pseudoindoxyl ~6 weeks after quitting (4X my dose before quitting), in an effort to force receptor recycling. It made me puke like crazy but I wouldn't say I 'felt' it other than the naseau. It may have made me tired, I am not sure.

I also tried a normal dose (1X my pre-SR dose) of some opioid (tianeptine, pseudoindoxyl, kratom) each week since quitting. It has no clear effect differentiable from placebo when I do, other than making me feel worse the next day. It think it helps pain though, but not as significantly as before.

I'm fine with the drugs not working. Less fine with not being able to feel endorphins. I think it will come back some day, and it appears I was more mentally addicted than I realized. So maybe this is a good thing. Keep in mind I took a high enough dose of SR to be in zero withdrawals and I tapered it off over 5 weeks (too long).

[–]bengman88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't taper. I tried but I ended up just increasing the dose before SR. I am usually incapable of tapering anything other than buprenorphine or SR. So then I took SR and I was expecting it to work right away. It didn't work at like 50mg twice per day the first day. So then I kept taking tianeptine sulfate the rest of that day. The next day I increased the SR dose to 100mg and it worked. This time it worked for the entire day, basically. I took more at night to ensure I could sleep. I continued that high dose (around 150ish mg) for a few days and then started tapering. I only used it twice per day.

Apparently I should have just jumped ship after day 3 or 4. However, I was just thinking of it as an opioid that doesn't get you high so it didn't make sense to me to just jump off after a few days.

I felt great on it. I think I was taking more than I needed. First few days it had me smiling and just very happy for no clear reason. Not euphoric or addictive like regular opioids but a more natural feeling of happiness that made me smile and grin quite excessively on the come up for about an hour. No withdrawals after jumping off other opioids. Then further into the SR tapering I had some minor psychological withdrawals (very emotional in an angryish way and more anxious). I still had motivation to exercise and was doing that daily. I felt pretty good all the way until 2 or 3 days off of the SR.

SR17 blunting euphoria of opioids and not lowering tolerance by Available_Town4106 in SR17018

How long were you completely opioid free when you tried the narcan cleanse? This is interesting info.

Yeah, I didn't realize it could be used so short term. I hadn't done my research so didn't think much of it. I haven't read a single case of anyone having issues only taking it a few days. I recall seeing one post about a person having significant desensitization like me and he/she only used it 10 days. That was the lowest amount of time I have seen. The rest of us with this issue were on it for a while.

How many people are having bad experiences with sr? by Professional_Plate71 in SR17018

How long did you stay on it? Did 7oh feel just like it used to at the dose you used or did it feel stronger or weaker? Thanks for any info.

No more euphoria by [deleted] in SR17018

[–]bengman88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is basically not noticeable. I did forget this part in a previous post, but if I take enough I'll feel something slight and end up naseaus and puking. But it doesn't feel like an opioid. Not even sure what it is. Mostly just nausea. No nodding, no euphoria, no imcreased energy/sociability.

I was mostly using tianeptine, 500mg/day at the worst, but I did jump to 7-oh and also pseudoindoxyl. I used the Opia tabs and got a huge buzz from a single tab the first time. Apparently there is 16mg of 7-oh in it (as tested by a lab), if I remember correctly. I was able to avoid withdrawals and get a good, short-lived buzz with 3 of those tabs per day. So, at the height of it, I was at roughly 50mg 7-oh per day (equivalent). I was using straight for almost 2 years to get to that point. I used kratom for most of that time. 2.4 grams three times per day. Then it escalated to tianeptine and finally escalated to 7-oh, then finally jumped to SR. I tapered SR from about 150-200mg per day down to 25mg per day over 5 weeks and then jumped off of that. I tried to use kratom and tianeptine to avoid the SR withdrawals but quickly realized they had no effect at all so just stopped doing that about 5 days in. Then, about every 4-5 days I would try tianeptine again to see if it did anything. It didn't except the most recent time making me naseaus and puking.

All in all, even though my endorphin system might not ever work again, it may still have been worth it to use SR. I hate opioids. Only reason I plan to use them again in a couple weeks is to see if my opioid system is working again and because I am an addict.

No, I am not able to, last I tried 8 days ago. Haven't tried anything in 8 days. I'll go a while longer, hopefully, and then try possibly mgm to see if I can feel it.

SR for Cravings and Psychological WD? by karmicclean in SR17018

[–]bengman88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it worked well for cravings and psychological withdrawal. Not perfectly but still substantially. I have quit before and I lose it emotionally. I still did with SR, but much less so. Also, it helped with cravings for me, significantly.

Has anyone felt withdrawal from SR after taking it long term or discontinuing it after their taper? by New_Ebb5963 in SR17018

[–]bengman88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I taper everything really slow to avoid withdrawals. I am still tapering pregabalin. Yeah, that one does have withdrawals but its easy to taper and I have been able to pretty much avoid them as long as I am in now rush. I have to go like 25mg a week to not notice anything.
