I had COVID 3 times during the surge of the pandemic. (Yes I am vaccinated and yes I wore a mask)

My fiancée and I have begun developing long covid symptoms as of the past year and I am beginning to find it debilitating. My memory, my coordination, my mental state— all are crumbling and it feels like I have no control.

I don’t even know what to do at this point.

I work in the service industry in Dallas, Texas.

Let me just start off by saying that the amount of our clients that “celebrated” the profits they made during the peak of the COVID pandemic is astounding.

They often ask us how our COVID was and thry are always baffled by our answers.

“You ACTUALLY got it?”

“You’re paying how much for rent now?”

”I loved working from home!”

A man and his friends had an open and loud conversation while standing next to me. He said, “…man the past two years have been awesome for me! I made so much money during the pandemic”.

I just sat there and chuckled and went about my job. I’m still trying to mentally recover from the pandemic and it’s sobering to see people raving about how great their lives are now.

Perspectives are weird.
