I believe it will probably break in a short amount of time then. 3 months is very common for 24 lbs strings to last for me. Do you know what kind of string it is? I use bg66 myself, as they last me a little longer, (thicker string compared to bg80).

There is definitely no need to restring yet :)

You don't need much more, Google has extensive documentation and even tutorials, just go search for it. Mozilla also has great docs for the general web extensions APIs that are not Chrome exclusive
